When I was deprogramming from a massive amount of severe trauma, I joined a Yoga studio and went almost every day. All the deep breathing and Yoga was great but having a community of people doing Yoga with me was also very important.

I knew that there was some sort of benefit from jogging through the nature reserve rather than doing all of my cardio at the gym. The sounds of nature, the smell of various pollens, ohhhh, I especially love the pollen released from trees in full blossom! 😍 BREATHES DEEPLY THROUGH NOSE and the earthery fragrance of the prairie where the nature reserve is located. (Although at times, during a windy day, there is a faint smell of manure present in the air due to all of the activity generated by neighboring farms)

Def recommend horticulture therapy as a great gentle exercise. Good for brain and body, and gives me extra push to start. Starting is always the hardest part.

I had surgeries on my left foot big toe amputated and while trying to heal from that,..fell and broke my right ankle in 3 places. I had ORIF surgery on ankle AND while Surgeon had me under anesthesia,..he went ahead and did a 2nd corrective surgery on my amputation that wasn’t healing. This all combined kept me off both feet for abt2+ months and trying to come back from that has been very hard for me. Great advice!!!😊

Morning sunlight will not allow you to make vitamin d3. It needs to be roughly 11am-2pm in spring/ summer. Depends on your latitude too

This may sound weird but I’ve always felt that working out actually decreased my motivation to handle my mental health. I can’t fully explain it or understand it since everywhere I hear it’s good for your mental health. Maybe I’ve not been used to felling those good hormones and releasing stress that I don’t know what to do when it’s done. Been something I’ve been thinking about going to a professional don’t really see any similar experiences online. Thank you.
