None of the music is mine. NASA footage is public domain.
Certain animated sequences belong to FTETTM (HBO)

I understand that much of the footage isn't scanned in 4K, but the reason I mention it is primarily for the still images used, which are scanned in beyond 4K.

I had to rewatch this before seeing the newly released part 2. It is just as good as the first time, the production quality is amazing. I really love these.

These documentaries made by this guy are so good that I can`t even describe it in words. I have never seen such interesting and perfect documentaries about the american space program before. And as a swede I will also thank you for the extraordinary clear and distinct speaker voice. It`s a true pleasure to see Your docs and I have seen them several times and always find something new in them. Thanks a lot and greetings from a space nerd in Sweden.

Your docs are better than ANYTHING I've EVER seen on ANY big television network or YouTube. Your work is so in depth, accurate, and well constructed. You have a great gift. I've seen just about every space related documentary ever made it seems but yours are always my favorites. Keep up the incredible work. It doesn't matter how long it takes. They're always worth the wait.

This was a slug, folks..no question about it. I started "officially" working on this video full time on May 1st. I have spent the last five months getting my rear end kicked by University, and I have neglected attention to this channel. For that, I apologize. I hope the final product still lives up to the standard of depth and detail and cinematic experience as I have tried to set and build upon, and if not -- I have, rest assured, learned my lessons from this project. I sincerely hope you enjoy. By the way, don't even try to impart your own views as to what happened on 11/22/1963 regarding President Kennedy. The comment section of this video is NOT the forum for debate on that topic, and any attempts to do so will be removed. It's just a waste of your energy. If you have any critiques/criticisms, please put them as a reply to this comment so I can add it to a growing list of "corrections" if necessary. Hopefully not many! Here are some of my own observations: When I say "RCS" in this video, I mean Reaction Control System. This refers to ANY thruster aboard the Gemini spacecraft, either OAMS or Re-entry Control System. I am aware that "RCS" when talking about Gemini also can imply the re-entry thrusters only, and when talking about Gemini V's "rcs problems", I am referring to OAMS thrusters, and not Re-entry thrusters. Either way, I could have worded it better, and I apologize for this sloppy wording. Edit 1: I pronounced “Rogallo” in a very American way. Whoops! Roh-GALL-oh is the right way, I get that now. I think this subject has taught all of us a thing or two about pronunciation in one way or another. Edit 2: Gus Grissom, Air Force pilot — was not an “experienced Navy man”. I wish I knew what I was thinking when I wrote that. I think it must’ve been reading that both Gus and John spent plenty of time on destroyers and in the water during their training. Also, John Young did NOT get seasick during Gemini III when it was floating in the water. Edit 3: The LR87 did in fact have split plumbing and pump machinery for both combustion chambers/nozzles, however they are mounted on a common engine frame.

I was fortunate enough to be a kid growing up in Titusville, FL during the Gemini program. During that time, I was able to watch all launches of Gemini and Agena target vehicles from my front yard. Dad was an engineering technician with the Bendix Corp. at The Cape responsible for the flight verification of the portable life support systems for the astronauts and ground support personnel. Those were golden years and I feel blessed to have witnessed The Space Race from Ground Zero. Outstanding film.

This is, hands down, the most comprehensive and entertaining documentary of the Gemini program I've ever seen. I grew up with these programs and hung on every report about them - start to finish. WIth this work, I've learned more than I ever thought possible - without doing all the research myself, which of course wouldn't have gotten to 10% of what you've accomplished. I'll begin to watch all of your content. THANK YOU!!

Love this documentary on Gemini. Nice surprise seeing my father at 40:55. He is the safety diver closing John Youngs door and giving him the thumbs up signal. My dad worked with all the astronauts during egress training and had great things to say about John Young as a brilliant engineer and nice person. He told one story of John Young hanging upside down in his seat belt with water rushing into the capsule calmly reading the checklist while his partner was freaking out trying to get out. He was very calm under pressure and a true problem solver.

I find these one of the best historical presentations of the space programs. I grew up near JSC and astronauts lived in my neighborhood. Very well done and very professional. Keep up the great work. 🏆🏆🏆
