Someone on another video with the same song commented, “It’s suffocating to be surrounded by happiness and not being able to feel it”. Man, I tear up reading those few words.

I was crying on my bike ride home, and this song came on shuffle. Sometimes music lands on you at the just the right moment.

Lyrics: let me sleep i am tired of my grief and i would like you to love me, to love me, to love me this is the night when these woods sigh come with me there are people who cannot speak without smiling they would take me from your hand or they would try, they would try this is the murmur of the land this is the sound of love's marching band and how they hold you like a gun and how i sing you like a song i heard when i was young and buried for a night like this

I just discovered this song, I was sleeping and YouTube were playing music in shuffle and then, I woke up because this music has something special. I said to myself something like "hu? wtf is that ? is it real or am I still dreaming ?" I don't know, I was floating ... and I started crying, submerged by very sad and also very beautiful feelings, memories. I don't know but this music has something more. something of very special and different and;;; I like it. thanks.

Remember this. Waking up and hear the tv is on. Someone is in the kitchen, washing dishes. You hear you brothers and sisters running around the room. You then join them on playing. You would then open the door of the backyard. You see how bright it is outside the door. Clear blue sky, soft wind, bright green grass, and colorful trees waving their branches. You then run outside and start playing house, or something imaginable. You hear cars driving past the house, neighbors mowing their lawn, and children screaming joyfully. As you grow older, you don’t see that world as it used to be. Brothers and sisters walks away. No one is in the kitchen. Sky is not as clear as it was, grass are now darker, trees are now all the same color, and the wind has now been lost. No more children screaming joyfully, no more neighbors interacting, and no more cars driving past your old house. You see the world black and white. As it turns into a shade of grey. Nostalgic right. Sadly you’ll never go back to that. All of it just goes into a wisp of smoke.

The lyrics of "The Wisp Sings," are nothing short of poetic brilliance. They perfectly capture the raw and visceral emotion of longing for connection, love, and companionship. In the first verse, the speaker's words drip with the sorrow of their grief, yet they hold onto the hope of finding someone to love and ease the pain. The line "This is the night when these woods sigh" paints a vivid picture of nature mirroring the speaker's emotions, and the weight of longing and sadness that comes with the night. The second verse takes us on a journey through the speaker's struggle as they are pulled away from their loved one. The imagery of "love's marching band" paints a picture of a powerful and all-consuming connection between two people. The lyrics "How they hold you like a gun" and "And how I sing you like a song" are nothing short of extraordinary, as they masterfully convey the duality of love - its power and vulnerability. The final lines "I heard when I was young" and "buried for a night like this" are a poignant reminder of past love, and the longing for that kind of love again. Winter Aid has succeeded in weaving together a tapestry of emotions that transport the listener to a place of raw, human experience.
