Everytime I listen to this song, it reminds me of my Grandma, she was basically like my best friend. I used to visit her often, and we always went to parks and just enjoyed life. Unfortunately, when I was 10/11 years old, she started suffering from Alzheimer's. My mother knew this type of memory would haunt me for a long time, so I only got to visit her once after she got diagnosed. That one time I did see her is still one of the worst memories I have, to this day, I cry thinking of how one of the most important people to me lost every memory of our adventures, treating me like a stranger. Next thing I know, I'm at a funeral, standing over her grave. I may be young, but I hate it when older people think that we can't experience true grief, and that we have nothing valuable to share from our life. To anyone young like me, I just have to say that eventually the people you value might not see you grow old, so treasure every moment you spend with them, and never take it for granted. RIP Grandma ❤️. Thank you for reading this dear viewer.

My friend/co-worker Jeremy Richman had moved himself and his family to Connecticut in the early 2000s.
He had a lovely little girl around 2006 and she attended Sandy Hook. Her name was Avielle..
I was in the Army and remember leaving Germany the same day I heard the news..
Jeremy's little girl was taken.
This hit much harder because I was a new father at the time and my first son had just turned 1.
Jeremy co-founded the Avielle Foundation, which was a non-profit that had a lot to do with mental health.
He took his own life in 2019.
Now my kids are 8 and 12. I kiss them goodnight and tell them I love them, every night. I tell them I love them every time I drop them off at school.. you never know if that'll be the last.

this song feels like a “see you soon” but the soon is not actually soon
