POV:
Itâs a freezing night and almost Christmas Eve.
You feel the cold breeze hit your face as you walk by and watch the cheesy couples or families enjoying time together; but youâre all by yourself.
You shrug and shake away those thoughts, until you hear a familiar song.
âAlone at the edge of the universe humming a tune, for merely dreaming we were snow..â
after listening to this verse you questioned yourself, what brought you to end in this situation?
You never imagined how a simple song would have reanimate all the memories from the past Christmas you spent with your loved ones.. they werenât with you anymore.
As a knot slowly formed in your throat and your heart skipped a beat, you remembered something.
Maybe they werenât by your side physically, but they were surely in your mind and holding a special place in your heart. You were never completely alone.

I imagine a soldier who came back after wwii a few months ago taking a walk through the city and even though heâs been home for a while heâs still have trouble accepting that he made it back ok. Heâs walking through and seeing other couples and families and he wonders why he made it instead of one of his friends who didnât, and he know he shouldnât feel guilty, thatâs what everyone tells him, but he still does. Itâs so nice to be at home again, with the christmas lights on houses and snow on the ground, that itâs almost too good to be true but when he reaches his house his wife opens the door before he does, she saw him coming and was too excited to wait, and she looks beautiful. His whole family is inside and theyâre all excited to see him, and in that moment he still doesnât know why he got to survive, but if being around made the people he loved this happy then heâs glad he did.

You stand alone on the street, one hand extended to catch the passing snowflakes. The street lamp flickers, flickers, and then goes out. All alone in the darkness now, the falling snow your only companion. You stick out your tongue to taste it. Itâs salty.
â...liar. You told me that snow tastes sweet.â Just like you told me youâll always be there. Just like I told you I wonât cry, that I donât care if youâre gone.

this playlist gives me the feelings of after something bad thing happened, like the climax of a movie,,, like i'd imagine these scenarios happening:
(1) you went to visit the one closest to you that you've been taking care of at the hospital, only to find out they had passed away peacefully on their deathbed. now you're just walking around ny in silent grief as everything just happens and passes by, as they are all in visible happiness except you.
(2) you had a really heated argument w/ someone you loved, and they then just left...and you just didn't want to stay in an empty apartment so you went out to (somewhat) feel better.
but all in all, going out did make you feel better, at least somewhat. just hearing the music playing, and maybe the thought of everyone else enjoying their christmas as well may have made you feel nice, lift you up in some sort of way. or not, whatever floats your boat, but you can't say that the music didn't do something to your heart: just seeing the live jazz performances, carolers singing on the streets, the radios from the stores playing its music.
then maybe you'd suddenly come across a person, and strike up a nice chat with the stranger who seemingly went through the same thing, and you're both able to relate to one another. or...suddenly bumped into an old friend that you haven't seen in a long time, rekindling that spark of either feelings that haven't been there in a long time, or just the friendship as it's been years...or you could've hated them before.
either way, it just turns out that you're both alone, and doesn't matter who, you two would be alright with some company. so you walk the city together, and look at stores, and listen to the music together. maybe even catch a late night movie, eat then drink, forgetting your problems for the night and just enjoying your time with this other person.
weird, huh? it's the magic of christmas. congrats, you sparked up an old friendship, or ignited a new one. who knows, maybe it could even lead to something else.
anyways, lolz, have a wonderful day you all, much love to you as the holiday season comes! :)

Imagine walking and remembering the times with your significant other and you start breaking in to tears in front of one of your guys favorite places when you guys went on dates and you remember the times when you went on dates with him and you guys were so much in love with each other that you did not have any time to see your family nor your friends you would spend all the time with him and spend every precious moment with him because he had little time to live and he himself showed you a lot of love before he passed away.

Never done one of these before, but thought I'd try since I enjoy reading them so much:
It's Christmas Eve, and in 1945 every radio seems to be tuned to this one station, so that as it drifts from an open bakery, there is no pause before the song is picked up again by a vibrant mall, bustling with people now that it is carrying furs and new fashion for the first time in nearly two years.
Your heels click on the slightly damp pavement.
You're not married, not because your husband/wife or fiancé died in the war or anything, but just because the war started before you ever stopped being busy. There was that one young man/lady back in highschool, but you've moved to New York now and heaven knows where the war decides to deposit its people.
But now the war is over. Yes, it is over. The dying of millions of men that became not men but numbers read by a man through a microphone has ceased. It never felt real, other than that night you woke up to your nice couple next door crying because they received their draft papers....and the rationing...and the new job.
Job, will I still have a job? You wonder. They don't need women in the factories anymore. A car speeds by particularly loudly and you glance up. There's a crowd outside a theater. You smirk, other people never would have known you had a rebellious streak, but you've always thought of being of a showgirl someday. The outfits, the glamour are far too alluring, but now you just might be too old for it. They are asking for what, 19, 20 year olds now? Babies, the lot.
The cold breathe you suck in feels good. It hits you. You're lost.
But for now, you decide to turn left into a corner store because why, they're carrying candy bars! You haven't tasted chocolate in years . You get one, as a treat.

Pov :
You're alone on the eve of Christmas so you decided to take a walk in the streets. It's very cold and you don't have gloves or a scarf.
You keep on walking under the snow and you see the lights of the shops, decorated for Christmas. It makes you sad and you can't stop starring at them, so you push someone. You apologies and you realize this person is your crush. He/she smiles and take your hand. You start dancing in the cold streets together
(Sorry if there are mistakes, i'm french)
