6:23 made me realize just how many "skeptic" or "anti-SJW" YouTubers have art depicting themselves and their personas as wearing suits and/or top hats. It's kind of hilarious.

Hey, nice video! Going to jump in real quick and give a quick defense of myself, if I may. A lot of what you said is right on, in that Macks greatly inspired a couple of videos that I made about a year or so ago. We share some similar tastes and styles, and I struggled as a creator to really take YouTube seriously until I saw several niche channels like his turning that style into awesome videos. In that sense, he was a great inspiration on a style that I adopted and began to riff on. However, I would disagree with the notion that I engaged in "plagiarism" as this video suggests. I haven't stolen a single frame of soulbro's work. My videos are original content, and my work is my own. We both cover vastly different subject matters... his channel services one corner of the internet, mine another... and I have never plagiarized his work (topics, analysis, footage, etc.) at all. So, I disagree that our situation with the KFC video I produced is anywhere near the same situation as your first and last examples. I mean, the two "similarity" clips you show here are quite a stretch to say the KFC video is a ripoff. I mean, the "alright check it out" thing I get... But if having structure in video essays where you address a topic point-by-point is stealing, by all means, lock me up, I guess.
For what it's worth, when I became aware that trolls were trying to stir up beef between us last year, I contacted Macks directly, and we talked through the situation one-on-one over the phone, as grown men do. He ran a spot for his comedy LP on a separate video of mine shortly thereafter, and we both have expressed interest in future collaborations, when a project I've had in the works reaches a point where he can be brought on in some capacity. As far as I'm aware, there's no problem between us. I continue to have great respect for him as an artist, and wish him continued success.
YouTube beef is one of the most absurd and childish things on the planet. I prefer collaboration. When engaged in petty drama, I waste time I could devote toward creating. I won't stop creating, and neither should you. Best of luck in your future works! Peace. âđť
