Honestly, Mercedes gives me the vibe of wanting to be a star than loving wrestling. For what she wants to do, it makes more sense for her to go to AEW with a lighter schedule for more money.
As stacked as WWE roster is, if she was about wrestling, she'd go to WWE as their women's division is taken much more seriously than AEW.
This isn't a dig at Mercedes [I quite like her] just an honest observation.

Feel like it can work but Mercedes Mone won't make the Women division better. Sure it's a big name to it but it won't matter if she's booked poorly. I honestly hope Tony Khan doesn't pull a Tony Khan and book Mone well then like 1 month later be like na I'm done with this toy time for a new one. Man you had to feel bad for Cole & Pat that night. It was clear they didn't want to slander Sasha & Naomi like that. But when Vince is in your ear probably saying something like "Say this or you're fired damnit!", well what are you gonna do. Can't exactly say no. But damn did Pat & Cole sound like they did not want to make that announcement though.

Tony offered her more money, promised not to say no to any of her bad ideas and told her he will put the belt on her ASAP and she can keep it as long as she wants.

I'm a big sasha/Mercedes fan but honestly she did nothing to raise her value whilst she was gone. She's still just sasha from wwe. So not too surprised wwe didn't wanna offer her more money.
As for aew. She will come in. Win the title at double or nothing or something. Lose it a month or two later . Disappear to rampage or Roh. Considering this has happened time and time again as tony just books to get a rating rather than to build storylines or characters. It will soon happen to deonna after her title match she will become Roh fodder

I remember her on broken skull sessions saying about wanting to be on the board, and how she felt she had earned the right to have a seat at the table.
She is smart enough to know that she is a brand with a shelf life and will do whats best for herself.
The whole landscape has changed over in WWE so probably wasnt the best time for her to go back there anyway if AEW agreed to oay her more then cant blame her!

Real reason: Money. TK bends over backwards to get any name, did the same with Ospreay and with Okada. She asked wwe the biggest paycheck for a female wrestler in history, when she has done close to nothing relevant in 3 years. Also AEW has a better schedule only fighting 1 time a week maybe. So better schedule, more money and would not be surprised if TK promised her the belt on a big ppv
