Watching this as a kid I remember thinking "wow how did they find actors who look JUST like the animated characters" without realizing the characters were designed after the actors

Something that sounds strange, but that I love is that the main characters in this movie are full grown adults with jobs and a kid, not some teenager that's too young for whoever they're dating. It's so rare to see older people FALLING in love in movies like this

The actress for giselle is just so so good at her job. The random times when she slightly becomes less childish and the change in mood when she's with Edward. Like it's so amazing man

Additional fun fact, Nancy is played by Idina Menzel, who voiced Elsa in frozen, so we’ve got two princess voice actresses in this movie.

Nancy is underrated. She is not the jaded one. She loved romance and remained hopeful despite Robert being kinda lackluster as a person and then she gets the romance she's always wanted at the end. Honestly, the dream.

I think something that is scarily overlooked is that She refers to the short guy as “Grumpy” so she knows OR at least is aware of the Story of Snow White… When in the end of the movie the queen hag extends the apple out to her and say “all this pain will go away with one bite” Giselle should know of Poison Apples especially since she is aware of Snow White, so she fully and willingly took the Poisoned Apple. I feel this was completely dark because she was willing to un-alive herself because the thought of not being with Robert was tragically heartbreaking.

At a time when Disney is desperately trying to mine audiences for nostalgia, this movie shows how to do it successfully. It uses all the classic tropes of age-old animated classics, but the movie has a heart of its own and that shines through so much... you should also do Stardust, man. That movie is weird as hell, but SO GOOD.

Enchanted was one of the most self aware movies of its time. It really celebrated Disney’s past while also showcasing its legacy to a new generation. Something that all the new live action remakes tried to do and miserably failed.

The fact that Giselle(who had never used a shower before) was able to figure out Robert's shower in record time when it takes me a solid 20 minutes to work any shower that isn't my own, is the most unbelievable part of the whole movie.

Okay but did anyone else fall in love with Edward? He's honestly an icon, and one of my favorite Disney princes after Naveen & Flynn. James Marsden was so cute in that role. Edit: Plus, the songs and animation being so well-done & made with care ("True Love's Kiss" and "How Do You Know" are still bangers) just shows how much Disney fell off on both aspects. This is so visible in the sequel, where I can't remember one song & the animation was ugly and lazy.

Enchanted is just one of the most underrated Disney movies ever! I absolutely love it and am sad that it got forgotten by so many people! Glad it got a sequal, but wish the sequal wasn't just on Disney Plus. Really wanted to add it to my DVD collection.

Also!! I love how they didn't villainise Nancy! Movies, especially the 2000's ones, do it so often. Just make the rival girl a total bitch and practically a villain. Nancy, on the other hand, was just a normal woman who wanted her romance and love and gracefully let go of Robert when she realised they weren't meant for each other. AND they gave her her happily ever after, too! Almost unheard of in 2000's movies and honestly, in movies today, too.

Something I actually like when they’re trying wake Giselle up, is when Edward tries and fails, he goes over to Robert and he’s like “please kiss the woman I love,” and he’s not like “she loves me and only me.” He just wants to wake up Giselle because he cares, and he accepts that she loves someone else. That’s what I like about Edward. edit: uh wow, thanks everyone for the replies and the likes. i usually comment something and it never gets this much attention. anyway, thank you again! ❤❤

Loved the dance scene as a kid. Now as an adult English Major I adore it. Espically when Robert is shown in like a prince outfit and Giselle is this modern girl. It really drives home how much they influenced each other's world.

I love how the animals, that help Giselle, are the only ones you usually find in NYC. I do enjoy that Giselle became a hero for her man.

Having a animated Disney princess come into the real world and first tackle the concept of dating in these type of movies was lowkey groundbreaking. It wasn't true love, it was learning to love by getting to know someone. They did it before frozen made it cool lol

Let's be straight up - Enchanted is one of the best Disney movie ever. Absolutely no joke. A movie ahead of it's time.
