Enchanted worked because it was about bringing magic to the real world. So Robert being cynical and the riffs on fairy tales was funny or wholesome. I think my favorite representation of this was during That's How You Know when the construction workers danced and posed to Giselle's singing or when the bikers crashed into Edward when he tried to sing.
Disenchanted tried to swap it, bringing the real world into a fairy tale. Problem was, by transforming everyone into character tropes, it just resulted in a... generic fairy tale movie. None of the characters were who we liked in the original movie. There was way too much singing which would usually be fine with me but the songs were so cookie cutter and bland.

This doesnt make any sense, Giselle literally started a fashion designer company called Andelasia fashions at the end of the first movie and as you said could make dresses with the animals and any fabric with ease. Why is Morgan without any clothes or fashionable dresses/ outfits to wear? If anything, Morgan should be best friends with Giselle and be an accomplished fashion designer herself.

Enchanted's plot was innovative, had a few twists and left Giselle a new woman with love but also professional ambition.
Disenchanted's plot is basically a Christmas hallmark movie at this point.
Big city = bad
Suburbs = good
Fashion empire = has become non-existent
Stay-at-home suburbmom = only valid option for Giselle

Im mostly just pissed that they decided to move to the suburbs when in New York they had:
-a nice apartment
-a local, decently paying job for robert
-Morgan’s entire social life/education system
-Giselle’s (forgotten??) fashion EMPIRE
-all of Giselle’s animal friends
-Giselle’s home, that she decided to stay in over her magic treehouse thing
-A portal to another world
-Any friends Giselle/Robert might have/have made (that are never mentioned)
AND THEY DECIDED TO MOVE TO THE SUBURBS BECAUSE GISELLE F E L T LIKE IT????
ROBERT STILL GOES TO HIS OLD JOB
MORGAN’S SCHOOL/SOCIAL LIFE ISN’T ANY BETTER
GISELLE ISNT ANY HAPPIER IN THE SUBURBS
W H Y DID THEY PUT SO MUCH TIME AND ENERGY INTO MOVING IF THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO OTHER THEN GISELLE’S F E E L I N G S

Morgan didn't really need a love interest in my opinion that was unnecessary. The movie should have just revolved around Morgan and Giselle's relationship, Morgan learning about magic and how she can use it to save the day. Also her love interest had no personality and we didn't get to see their relationship evolve that much so having him in the movie was pointless.

Watched this movie today and had already forgotten that the baby existed. Also Robert added literally nothing to the movie. If he left a note on a fridge saying he had to go out of town and just not having the actor there, there would have been not a single difference to it.
I also caught the "love's true kiss is most powerful" and then this movie retconning it with memories...

I agree with Alex the best part of this film is how gracefully everyone has aged
