I'm Swedish, and I learnt a lot from this video. They didn't tell us about the devil bit in school, and I was always confused about what Lucia (this Italian girl who pulled her eyes out and served them to her suitor on a silver plate) had to do with light.
I love Natten går tunga fjät! I'd like to add that while the first verse talks about how shadows lurk on Earth, the final verse, sung as the procession exits, says that Lucia promises that the sun will rise out of a rosy sky. And here's the thing, usually the Lucia procession in school happens in the morning. When you enter the auditorium, it's dark outside, but when you leave, the sun has just risen. So right after you hear that promise of the sun, you go out and see it. I love that effect. It truly makes Lucia feel magical.
Nowadays, though, I never hear Natten går tunga fjät. Most Lucia processions choose to sing "Sankta Lucia, ljusklara hägring" instead, which has the same melody, but different lyrics.

It would be great if you guys could amalgamate the videos in your playlist...maybe consider doing amalgamated videos in volumes whenever you might update playlist so that you might have to go back and update the ones you have already edited. It will be very useful so that some students who might consider learning in one seating have one lengthy video instead on one video at a time.
Just a suggestion.
Also another video could be some proposed suggestion from fans about what everyday life is like in Sweden, i.e. what are some of the typical things Swedes do on a day-by-day. Would be great insider digest.

I arrived in Sweden this summer so this is going to be my first winter here, in Stockholm! I joined the choir of my university and we will have a concert on sankt Lucia's day, even tho most songs are Christmas songs. Fun fact, half of the choir is composed of Swedish, the other half we are italians 😂 so our pronunciation is still not the best 🤭
