You should have asked a Mexican cook because they make tacos de lengua (tongue tacos), which are amazing and one of the best ways to have tongue meat. Even though it is an organ meat, it is not cooked the same way as regular organ meat. They know some steps that help make it tender and remove any potential gameiness flavor.

Many people have already said it, but this probably wasn't the best way to go for beef tongue. I personally prefer it made into shredded meat for tacos, but honestly it's okay whichever way you do it. To each their own.

I like that YouTubers formed these little communities within their niches. All the chef channels collab and support one another rather than competing. It’s a win-win for all.

I've had cow tongue at my local Mexican restaurant and I really liked it. I asked the chef how he cooked, and he said that he roasts it all day like roast beef. It makes it really tender and juicy, plus you can add a ton of flavors to it as well.

pre-boiling and taking the outer membrane off first might help. seasoning the membrane doesn't do so much.

Hi Nick ! I’m sure you know it but if you wanna cook some cow tongue, you must cook it in a meat broth during up to 2 hours long. It will avoid the chewiness you talked about and make it more flavourful. Greetings from France πŸ‡«πŸ‡· ! Have a nice day !

I actually love love love cow tongue tacos. I know you guys didn’t enjoy the cow tongue smoked but I definitely think you guys should take a trip to a southern state and try out the cow tongue from a Mexican restaurant. Literally one of my favorite kinds of tacos lol

When you cook the tongue properly it's actually one of the most tender and delicious pieces of meat.

In Japan or Korean Cuisine, it’s seared just like other meats on a Korean/Japanese bbq. It finishes chewy and delicious and we dip it in a soy sauce barbecue sauce. It’s really good

I really cook it in a different way. On a pressure pot fill water in it you must cover the tongue, put your tongue following with some ginger, salt, lemon juice, bay leaves and cloves. Let it cook for 2 h on medium low temperature. Take the tongue out, peel the extra stuff out, chop it in the way you did it in the video. Then before put it on the oven, you must glaze it with the sauce, for the sauce is mustard with salt , pepper , smoked paprika, and a little bit of olive oil . Mixed it up, spread it on the pieces that you have. Put in the oven for 1 h on grill mode 180 Celsius. You will love it, it will be amazing πŸ’ͺ🏽πŸ’ͺ🏽

Hello, Nick. Try cooking it using our way. It's called "Lengua". It's a filipino delicacy wherein the tongue is boiled and then cooked with cream and mushroom after the boiling. Try searching for the recipe and I can bet you'll enjoy it.

Best way to cook ox tongue is boil it in a big pan with a bunch of different veg like carrots, leeks, things like that for around 10 hours then leave in a tongue press overnight and slice deli thin. Delicious 😁😁

A good way to cook tongue is to cut it into really thin strips with sesame oil and your regular seasonings and sort of barbecuing it on a low heat source for a bit. The texture is very chewy and has a nice mouth feel.
