Six minutes in and the first "mistake". Elinor was kept imprisoned for the rest of Henry II's life, once Richard became king he released her and she spend many years ruling England in his stead while he was off fighting.

I enjoyed it; including the music. AS for ads not as much as telly.

Still in his sailor's deck shoes, Richard leapt into the sea and waded through the waves to reach the beach. The King again showed his personal bravery and martial prowess, leading fifty-four knights, a few hundred infantrymen, and about 2,000 Genoese and Pisan crossbowmen into battle.[9][10] The Muslim army began to panic at the sudden offensive launched by Richard's newly arrived force;

Baha' al-Din, a contemporary Muslim soldier and historian, recorded: β€œI have been assured … that on that day the king of England, lance in hand, rode along the whole length of our army from right to left, and not one of our soldiers left the ranks to attack him. The Sultan was wroth thereat and left the battlefield in anger

Saladin's cavalrymen were in a demoralised state and their mounts were exhausted. They were put to flight by a charge of the knights, only 10 to 15 of whom were mounted, and spearmen led by the king himself.

In the last two minutes, they say that the peasant found a treasure trove in September 1199, and Richard laid siege on the town because of that treasure. However, Richard died in April 1199. Is that a mistake?

Richard forgave the guy that shot him with the crossbow, but as soon as Richard had died they skinned the poor fellow alive. He never got to spend the gold Richard had given him at his death bed.

Real crusades history is a great channel that corrects a lot of the postmodern views about the age

They summed it up in the 1st few min: perpetually absent, fighting abroad, viewed England as a cash pot for crusades. β€œA burning passion for war,” accurate.

King Richard I and his younger brother King John I of England were both natural redheads with light blue eyes and extremely pale skin. 🎭🩰🎨

He spent more time in jail than anywhere else during his regal tenure.

People don't realise that the majority of soldiers that fought for Richard in the crusades were not his soldiers most of them were Italian German Austrian French and others from central European countries he was not their king but they followed him with a fervour they would have followed him through the gates of hell to fight the devil if he led them their.
