"If he could pull that off, it would be an essentially unbeatable speedrun." -over 30 minutes of video remaining

Update, they’re sub 22 now. There’s a big skip in bowser’s castle. They guide one fireball up and then run over the top of the level, skipping that part.

Just want to point out, Pidgey has reclaimed his record since this video came out, and currently holds the wr spot for every single category for this game. Including things like 100%, cannonless, and no world 5

I truthfully can’t explain the feeling I get whenever SS goes, in all seriousness, “..and that runner’s name… was BlazeTurds420”. It is a unique sensation.

The timeline and “Where Are They Now?” are such great additions. This series gets better with each new video

46:10 for those who don’t know, Dave Stieb was a pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1980s. His most infamous accomplishment, and what Salt is referring to here, occurred in September 1988, when he had a no hitter broken up in the 9th inning with 2 outs and 2 strikes (basically the baseball equivalent of Pidgey’s motion control mishap) in back to back starts. The odds of this happening are around 1 in 240 million

Pidgey’s accidental spin is one of humanity’s greatest tragedies

The "Where are they now" ending segment is amazing and I hope it stays like the timelines did.

Plot twist: the loading times are different because the frame rule bus randomly gets flat tires

For those who are interested, the current record holder is Sharpruns with a 21 minute 52 second run. The only other two people to hit sub 21 is BillyJoe and Cads.

It’s a real credit to the creator of this channel that I was able to sit through a 51 minute video about a game I’ve never played. The story telling is unreal. Kept me glued. Keep up the awesome content.

The summoning salt bit I’m never gonna get tired of is going “this was undoubtedly a once in a lifetime accomplishment” and then showing the runner do it again. Love this vid

The timeline is my favorite addition to videos. It's visually pleasing.

One thing I always appreciate in these videos is when Salt says "this happened" and stays quiet to allow the clip of the player to speak for itself. He knows when he doesn't need to explain.

I love that every runner that breaks the record gets their own little moment to shine in your videos. Briefly, you present them as the coolest, most skilled person in the world. And they all deserve that! They all accomplished something never before done. Yeah it's a silly little game, but it's pushing human reflexes, memory, and coordination to an absolute limit, and I think it's so cool how you give it so much gravitas. Fantastic vid as always!

Always remember: Matt Turk is never too far behind your world record, even if he has never ran the game before.

That addition at the end with how the runners are doing since then is a really nice touch. Specially just mentioning Matt Turk for the hell of it! Thanks for always being incredible and improving every time, Mr. Salt

I really love how when the runners are streaming, a lot of them celebrate by saying “WE did it!” It’s really refreshing to see communities where people are friendly rivals or are working together to beat records set by them or other people. It’s not nasty and people don’t get a big head about it.
