I would have expected a 'Poor unfortunate souls' cover from you when it comes to the Little Mermaid but turning a romantic song into a Siren's death song is even better. Loved the different style of the song. The art is fire... well I should say water.

This reminds me of the Austrian folktale "Donauweibchen". In which a young fisher-son falls in love with a mermaid/water-nymph and follows her into the Donau. Becoming her slave and unable to return home, unless an unsolvable task is completed.
Spoilers: The story ends with the father of the fisher-son mourning the loss of his only child, for he knows hewill never return.
