Also it took me a couple tries but I was able to figure out what the words were the flashed on screen throughout the video.

I've seen a few theories about the meaning of this song and decided to join in the fun, so here we go.
"The curious case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde" is a book written by Robert Louis Stevenson. It talks about a ma who has a split personality , a "good"/"normal one called Dr.Jekyll and an "evil" one called Mr.Hyde. The title of this song is literally: "Jekyll and Hyde", so it's obvious that the people singing this are the two personalities. There is other evidence which comes from the video and lyrics: in the video there are flashing sentences, one of them supporting my theory: 2:50 "By whose design were we placed in the same body?". As for the lyrics, 'Giving up control' is often mentioned, which would illustrate the battle between the two personalities for control over the body ("Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, it is time to give up"; "How could this happen, did I have no say?"; "And let me hurt him for you!")
The next question is though, who do these personalities want to hurt/kill? Looking at the lyrics, it seems this person hurt the two personalities ("(...) would not forget how he hurt you"; "You're not happy(...)"), and seems to be referred to as "My beloved" by both of them, so it would seem that this man was their lover and cheated on them or harmed them in another way.
So finally, let's look at the story behind the song:
A woman with two split personalities, one good and one bad, had a lover that both personalities loved ("My beloved... My beloved"). This lover, however, deeply hurt them either by cheating or any other way. The good personality was heartbroken and the evil was infuriated. Then, the evil one had the idea of killing the (ex-)lover, and since she didn't have full control of the body they both occupied, she started trying to convince the good one into her plan. The good one, although just as hurt as the evil one, refused over and over again. The evil one sometimes grew tired of it and tried many times to take control by force, but without success. But then, at some point, the good one started being influenced and/or convinced by the evil one, and started wanting to murder the lover as well (we can see this with the change of the blue-eyed "good" character and the black and white silhouettes). At some point she succumbs to the desires of the evil one, and her own. In the end, they set out to kill their "beloved'....
By the way, the video and cover was AMAZING!!!! Rafscrap did an extraordinary job (as always), the instrumental part was SO good and DID YOU SEE THAT ARTWORK AND EDITING I- Rafscrap is definitely one of my favorite singers who make covers UwU

The first time we got on call to tackle AE together wasn't even a week ago, and you end up surprising me with THIS masterpiece.
Your vocals, mix, art, and now animation are seriously god-tier.
I'm impressed beyond words.
This song has been one of my favourites for quite a while now (ever since it has come out, I'm sure), and you have certainly done it justice, no doubt. I'm absolutely in love with the way you've changed the melody of certain lines. Your high notes are insane, and I always look forward to hearing your harmonies and adlibs. I'm so, so mesmerised by this. It was my absolute pleasure being able to help you, and I had such a vast amount of fun calling with you more than we normally would've because of my classes. I just hope that next time you won't have to get yourself a Mr. Jordan to keep you sane during your mixing sprees... RIP buddy, you won't be forgotten.

Heard the song for the first time today. Replayed like 50 times. I thought "Hey, I wonder if there are any English covers, this song is really good." So I scrolled for a second and found yours. Figured by the thumbnail that this one was gonna be pretty good. Well oops. I wasn't ready to have a new favorite cover of a vocaloid song. Of which I've heard both the original and the cover for the first time today. I also wasn't ready for this cover to be so much better than the original. I'm actually a bit sad your cover cut the song a bit short. I was absolutely not done listening. Definitely keep at it, because wow you sing so well. 10/10 damn near melted.
