Itās 2023! And time to try something new! I say this fully in the knowledge that I actually started this project in 2021, but thatās entirely besides the point. I have always loved the cypher format. A whole troupe of creators coming together on a track with a shared theme. I loved the idea of organising one myself but no good cypher ideas I had felt like a right fit for the channel.
Then an epiphany. Perhaps the best cypher ideas for a channel like mine were the worst cypher ideas. And so the idea of āUnlikely Cyphersā was born! I hope for this to be a recurring series. Not a regular thing, but as often as I can fit them between my main music video projects!
Iām a HUGE fan of The Muppets and have been for as long as I remember. So they felt like the perfect inaugural episode. Mainstream enough that everyone knows them, odd enough that the idea excited me. Strap in, the topics only get weirder from here!
A massive thank you to everyone who came together to work on this with me, I had a blast putting this together and getting to work with so many folks Iāve not had the chance to work with on the channel before, as well as some returning friends! And Especially to Bonecage who not only performed as Lew Zealand, but also composed the beat and mixed this monster of a track!

As a huge muppet fan I canāt believe I havenāt found this sooner. All the hidden references in the lyrics are insane, from Wilkins in Freeceeās verse to Frank Oz and Beretta, Iāve listened to the song a few times already just because of the lyrics.

I was expecting The Swedish Chef's verse to be absolute gibberish and was utterly surprised to find out it was actually comprehensible while still sounding like his regular vocal patterns. Wowza.
Also, whoever did Gonzo just made my entire day, the voice impression was incredible and I will take my nonbinary rep any day of the week :)

Just to say that I just played this for my 62yo uncle (who basically doesn't touch the internet unless he's asking me to order something online) who saw the Muppets more frequently when I was younger and he found this very entertaining! He didn't say that he had a favourite part, but he agreed with me that it was very impressive that you were able to rap as the Swedish Chef.
And given that there's almost 30 years age difference between us, I figure that's fairly impressive :D

I have been a Muppets fan for over forty years. There probably aren't many people on this planet who take the Muppets more seriously than I do. And this? This was worthy! The lyrics were in character, and some of the voices were perfect recreations. Thank you for giving me this at a time when I need more good things in my life. BRIGHT/FLASHING COLOURS WARNING I've been made aware that the bright colours in Dr Teeth's verse at 3:55 might be a problem for people with photosensitivity. I always put a warning at the start of the video if there's any flashing but in this case, though there's no direct flashing light, there is some very intense colour which I've been informed may be a hazard for some people. Please be mindful of this verse in particular! I'm very sorry to anybody affected and I will be more mindful in future!
