It's astonishing that a human being who endured such horrific emotional torture during their entire childhood can even string a sentence together. She deserves all credit for the tremendous compassion and emotional intelligence and love she has found for herself. She is an amazing role model.

I am so glad she made the point that forgiveness is not necessary. Too often have I been told to forgive the people who have done harm to me in order to let go and move on. I do not need to forgive those who feel no wrong in what they have done to me. Not everyone deserves forgiveness and I have been able to move on without giving it.

To me, the most striking part of this video is how incredibly normal her and her family all look in the photos. They're affectionate, well put together, smiling, doing a range of family activities. They look like people you could see anywhere in your community and not suspect a single thing. It makes me think of how many other people are experiencing things just as horrific as Mary did, and no one will ever know.

My mom had a very similar story. Buried alive with a corpse & a breathing tube, raped by most of the men she knew growing up, forced to do other things that I wonât list here. We lost her in 2020. She was 74. I so wish there was a way for me to investigate and learn more. Her story could make for a horror movie. So many unbelievable things. So many mysteries. Such a tortured lifeâŚand she was a brilliant woman, the most loving mother I ever could have had. Many of her memories came back during counseling with our pastor when I was very young. She was in her early 40âs.

16:25 "Many people in this organization are accused parents" that line made me gasp. Practically a whole organization created to gaslight victims of abuse into thinking that their memories are false.

My grandma has experienced similar torture and abuse from her family and religiuous members, along with dozens of cult sacrifice cerimonys, she developed DID (dissociative Identity Disorder) which kept splitting with each life shattering traumatic event, they kept happening and her brain kept developing seperate personalities to cope with the trauma. Once the trauma and abuse stopped, she started going to therapy and bettering herself etc, she learned she had over 100 personalities from the trauma. She has never written or spoken publicly about it, not because she doesnt want it to get out, but because the stories and horrors she witnessed would never be believed. Its terrible, but things like this happen so much more often than people would think. BE SAFE OUT THERE, THE WORLD CAN BE A SCARY PLACE!
