Some years ago, my wife and I brought a 90 year old family member with us for an event out of town. Our senior sleeps in a recliner chair, so we brought it with us. We got to the nice hotel and I sheepishly asked the bellman if he would take it to our room and set it up. I said, "I know this is a really strange request, but can you bring this to our room and set it up for us?" His response floored me as he said, "Sir, that's not even the weirdest request I've had in the last 5 minutes." I laughed and tipped him well. 🤣🤣

I was 16 and I got a job at a luxury hotel as a receptionist. I had an old man try to get me to come to his room after shift. I politely declined, the other girl working with me and the manager on shift had to essentially hide me at the back. The old man kept screaming and demanding me to come out.
I had to be escorted to my moms car after my shift.
I ended up getting fired at the end of my probation and it was because the old man was filthy rich and friends with the owner.

I was staying in a luxury hotel in a high-end suite with a group of friends from much better off families than mine, and I noticed how weird it was for some of the staff that I was just being friendly. Tipping and making small talk about their day and stuff. They really don't even expect that from higher-end guests.

I don't work in the hotel business, but I am a school teacher based in the Middle East. I tutored an extremely wealthy student and I understand what he means by dealing with these kind of wealthy people. They do not see you as their equal, they see you as some(thing) beneath them. After my experience, I enjoyed my humble life more.. where every person is my equal and has as much humanity as I do.

Honestly I don't think its only wealthy people who have such mentality. It's pretty much most of the common people you rub shoulders with. Its only that the wealthy can afford to actually fulfill their filthy desires while the ordinary folk can just fantasize about it.
And in a way it's scary because these ordinary people are folks you interact with everyday. The cashier at a supermarket, the person who serves you coffee, the person who commutes to work in a bus. On face value you might think these are just ordinary people but deep down, if they had the privilege of millions of dollars and extreme privacy, they too would become monsters in a heartbeat.
And it only goes to show that money just does not buy class and honor.

This reminds me of a job interview I had at an hotel for a house keeping position. The manager was asking me very strange questions. Asking me for hiv testing and std testing. I told him I was no longer interested in the position and immediately left. Months later that same hotel was on the news for prostitution.
