No mention of the fact he refused Western medical assistance for his wife when she was dying. After she died and he got an illness, he requested Western medicine, which saved his life.

gandhi was a convenient figure for the british to glorify because of his "non-violent approach" but people like bhagat singh, kartar singh sarabha, babbar akali and subhash chandra bose who engaged in armed struggle to fight for the independence were suppressed and forgotten.

He also said menstruation was a distortion of the soul; thought women gave up their own humanity when r*ped; defended honor killings to save the family from "shame"; and abused his wife on top of the using/abusing other girls and women like objects for him.

Gandhi was a convenient personality for the British to allow to be worshipped. The white world liked the idea of this peaceful protestor who poses no immediate threat. The British didnt leave India because of Gandhi, but because they had already taken from her what she could give, and the political atmosphere was getting increasingly hostile. This was fuelled by non-peaceful revolutionaries. Gandhi just delayed the independence movement by at least 5 decades.

I think the media portrays Gandhi as this “Great human who did nothing wrong ever” and that bugged me for a long time. Videos like these are eye openers.

Him and Mother Theresa are one of some people who don't deserve the praise they still get.

Brahmacharya is a concept within Indian religions that literally means to stay in conduct within one's own Self. Not necessarily by surrounding girls around, which Gandhi did incorrectly!

Finally! I would just like to add that celibacy is not necessarily only about making young teenage girls lie naked next to you, this is NOT a hindu practice---please don't let Gandhiji be the benchmark for being brahmachari. I would also like to say that he is not the benchmark for all Hindus, and we certainly don't venerate him or treat him like a saint. He is the father of our nation and he is thus treated with due respect based on the national status he holds.

Brahmacharya/celibacy doesn’t have anything to do with naked girls. Gandhi was a pervert nothing else. Being a hindu I can tell you that brahmacharya/celibacy doesn’t mean sleep with naked girls to know are you capable of controlling your lust or not.

It was people like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Udham Singh, etc,. Who actually brought India to freedom. Gandhi wasn't a revolutionary leader, he was just a politician who stood back and let people divide India into religions and communities.

As an Indian, More people need to know! Would like to correct that Brahmacharya is not a Hindu practice, it's a concept to stay in conduct with your own self, it does NOT mean to have people test your sexual desires. Please be vary of using terms loosely without much research carefully.

Thank you sooo much I will never understand why "Gandhi" who was racist to South Africans, reason behind Partition of India and also probably why we got independence so late.

If you're nice to everyone, including the bad guys, then you're not really a nice person.

I think it should be noted that he never really stood up for womens' rights and their empowerment. For example, in his famous Dandi march, he had forbidden women to take part. They however, did take part because of the Sarojini Naidu who persuaded him to do so. At the age of 13-14 after he had got married he had explicitly told his wife to never go out of the house without his prior permission. It does not end there. He also thought that it was always the fault of women when they got raped and also they should never fight their rapists. he also stated that the jews in germany should "jump off a clip" and thus refrain from using violence in defending themselves. Also the sole contribution of his towards the indian freedom struggle was that he led to thousands of unnecessary deaths at the hands of the british police which could have been easily avoided by using force and the most important contribution yet was making the arrival of freedom slower, without him and his methods, we would have gotten way long back in our history pursuade

Before his death penalty, Gandhi's murdered said : "I have no doubt that honest writers of history will weigh my act and find the true value thereof some day in future.”

As an Indian I would like to thank you for this….so happy the truth is coming out at last…people should know we didn’t get independence just by sitting peacefully…true freedom fighters like Subhash Chandra Bose should be given the much needed attention and credit
