My grandpa was schizophrenic and went blind so he would have yelling arguments with people and i felt bad for him because he truly couldnā€™t tell if the people were there or not.

I can't believe nowadays people use schizophrenia as a joke when it's a real thing people suffer from. I hope you're doing alright bro

I work with schizophrenic folk all the time. Its very rare that people are this aware of their delusions. The amount of willpower this takes is far beyond anything I could even comprehend, you're strong dude. Keep that head up.

"trying to make light of the situation" was a really good pun

Man that just sounds so exhausting. Wish there was a way people didnā€™t have to live life with this type of difficulty. Donā€™t ever give up dude

the way he was talking sounds like heā€™s trying to ignore another loud voice talking to him and he keeps losing his train of thought and that is so scary to me

When the voice told him to kill himself and he said ā€œsometimes I debate if I should or notā€ :(((

This is no joke.. I respond to things that others canā€™t hear or see.. sometimes I have to analyze the situation to see if what Iā€™m experiencing is actually real or in my mind. I do jump while Iā€™m in bed because I feel stuff walking on my bed. I had to learn to not respond out loud to whatever Iā€™m hearing. It is exhausting to have what most people consider a normal day. Praying for you.

The craziest thing to me is that his own brain is doing it to him, almost like he is in a constant battle with himself. He listens even though his mind is creating these voices.

Truly thank you for this video. My husband has schizoaffective disorder and when he goes through an episode- you being able to put into words what you are currently hearing helps me understand what he goes through. Heā€™s expressed in the past that heā€™s heard almost the same exact things. His common one that he has is that someone is following him or stalking him. When heā€™s in a bad episode heā€™ll go catatonic. Itā€™s truly a nerve wracking thing. I canā€™t even imagine what itā€™s like to be the one experiencing it so thank you for sticking around to tell us your story. I know this video is from a few years ago, but I saw that youā€™re still active on here and that made me happy. When you said that the one voice said to unalive yourself the expression you had on your face was one Iā€™ve seen on my husbandā€™s one too many times. So thank you for sticking around. Thank you for not giving into those voices. Again, I canā€™t imagine what you go through on a daily, but as someone that is a partner to someone with a form of schizophrenia, it means a lot that you keep pushing and that youā€™re on meds. The fact that youā€™re also pretty aware of it helps too Iā€™m sure. At least it helps my husband.

Just discovered your channel now. My brother was schizophrenic throughout most of my life (sadly he passed a few years ago) and it wasn't easy watching him struggle. He was a very kind-hearted soul that was dealt a crap hand, and what he had to go through was anything but fair. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, I wish you all the best <3

My grandmother has Schizophrenia. I love seeing people spreading awareness on this, no one understands her so she was appreciative to see someone shining light on this. Thank you.
