It hits so different hearing a 33 year old Taylor sing this as opposed to a 20 year old. I can't imagine how crazy it must be to go through and rerecord so many defining moments throughout your adolescence and early adulthood and re-examine those memories. My favorite thing about this song is possibly the way she made sure all the guitar arrangements where somewhat reminiscent of John's signature style. She made sure to study his sound to replicate it in a song where she's explicitly talking about how emotionally abusive and manipulative he was. That's some real Stevie Nicks level of pettiness, and I love it.
