As Irish person it's important to contextualise the famine. There was potato crop failure across Europe due to blight. There was plenty of food in the country BUT there were laws forbidding irish to even fish the streams or the sea. Carts of wheat etc. Would be shipped out of the country while the people starved. They were only allowed to farm one type of potato on tenant farms (if they were lucky to be tenants) which they became dependent on and so when that went, everything else did. When famine happened Trevelyon and others in power saw it as an act of God to get rid of lesser Irish and did not help in any meaningful way (although there actions caused this famine). Thus a lot of Irish people see it more as genocide than famine.
Quakers however did help us with soup kitchens etc. We always remember them and of course Choctaw tribe who also donated while they were on the trail of tears â¤

Of course Victoria wasnât fond of the kids, because Albert was. The more she had, the more he gushed about them and not her. In the 1975 miniseries Edward the King (itâs here on YouTube and pretty good), Victoria is portrayed exactly like this, mad to be pregnant, mad to have any kids at all, and mad that Albert was a good dad who cared about their children.

Coming from a country which was under British colonial rule for 200

He was then going to pay for his wrongdoings- however, before that could happen the US government (who is responsible for giving Syngman Rhee his power originally in Korea) flew him out of Korea on a private chartered plane to Hawai'i where he was allowed to live out the rest of his life- never paying for his crimes against his own citizens.
