Your "food 5" was actually a mixed meal. It's boerenkool (the Green left part) while the (right Orange part) is called : Hutspot because there is carrot in it. The boerenkool is being served with the sausage while the hutspot was being served with the meatball. Normally we Dutch eat the two dishes separately. For anyone who didn't know😉

You should try an Indonesian/Chinese restaurant whenever you come back for a food review. And then try saté, babi pangang and foe yong hai. Or nasi rames. They are all classic diners that you can also buy in the Dutch supermarkets. Or what you could do/try is a Chinese/Indonesische rijsttafel for 2. Then you get what i wrote and more! Enjoy!

Boerenkaas 💛
Boerenkaas is Dutch cheese that is largely made by hand from raw milk. The name has been protected by the European Union since 2007 as a guaranteed traditional specialty. Only Dutch cheese that has been prepared on a cheese farm according to traditional and controlled preparation methods may be sold as farmer's cheese.

Currently, my favourite is pea soup, or erwtensoep as we call it. We're just heading into autumn with the weather getting colder and lots of rain and there are few things better than eating a hot bowl of savoury soup with pieces of rookworst in it - and other meats for deluxe culinary versions.
A good erwtensoep has to be so thick that a spoon can stand up in it.

Well, you definitely choose a great pancake restaurant in Utrecht :)
My own favorites of Dutch food.
5: Stamppot Rauwe Andijvie (stamppot raw andive) with Rookworst or Dutch Meatbal
4: Erwtensoep/Snert (Dutch Pea soup)
3: Bruine Bonen Maaltijdsoep (Brown beans meal soup)
2: Kapsalon (thank you Rotterdam for this fine addition to Dutch cuisine)
1:A simple Dutch Ham/Cheese Tosti (Toasted sandwich with Cheese and ham)

I saw that someone said that stew is carrot-onion-potato, but that is called stew.
stew means it is mashed!!!
for example: stew lettuce, stew sauerkraut, endive stew and so with hutspot we don't say stew before or after, it's just called that!
The tastiest thing, we think here, is to make a hole in your stew and fill it with gravy😋😋😋
I like your video’s😘

Nice video, well done. Can I please elaborate on 'Stamppot" every vegetable with mashed potato can be considered stamppot even with raw veggies like "stamppot raw andives. But theres one exception to that and that is "hutspot". Originates from Leiden its cooked carrots with equal ammount of onions mixed with mashed potatoes. It goes back to 1574 when the Spanish troops pulled out of the city of Leiden. Stamped refering to mashing and Huts referring to hutselen, roughly translated to hustle ^^ So if you hustle grated and cooked carrots and onions with mashed potatoes hey presto, and voila, we got "Hutspot";-) This is pronounced like the Swedish pronounce "wifi-hot-spot" I kid you not.
