I've listened to this song for a while and only recently realized the meaning of the lyrics. How she was born and Asian woman, estranged from her heritage. And being "born as fools" is quite possibly a westernization of the vedic concept of Maya (delusions that divert from reality's objective truth) from Dharma tradition and how everyone is born estranged from the history of their origins. Excellent writing from such a good Rock group.
