R.I.P. Taylor, you are sorely missed but fondly remembered.

Something about this song. That opening riff just sends shivers down your spine, the guitar, the vocals, and especially the drums are just art. It draws you back.

My high school, Free State High School, was established the same year as this song's release. The opening day was August 12th, 1997. I'm class of 2022, but according to a copy of the '97 yearbook from the library, almost 90 plus percent of students voted this song as their favorite song then.

I'm pretty sure this song is one of those songs that gets everybody nostalgic no matter when you were born or what time you're nostalgic for

After reading these comments I feel like most of us are one and the same. The music, lyrics, the vocal patterns, it just screams nostalgic vibes of so many emotions. It makes me happy to know I’m not the only one so moved by music that it sometimes brings me to tears. I don’t even realize I’m tearing up half the time. That’s just the good soul in us. God Bless you all.

does anyone get a huge uncomfortable feeling of nostalgia from this song? I love it so much but at the same time it makes me want to cry because it reminds me of childhood

Fun Fact: Dave actually played drums on this track because Taylor Hawkins hadn't joined yet, although he does appear in the music video which came later.

I can listen to this song all day and never get sick of it. Actually, that's what I did when I played wrestling games with my cousins. I didn't know anything back then, and I kept hearing it throughout my life, not even knowing the name of the song, or what band it was made by. Luckily, I finally found it.

People say this song makes them feel nostalgic, right now I don't feel like that. I got cheated on so I've been really down lately but I played this song and I felt motivated. I wasn't thinking of the past, I was thinking of the future. No more stress of having a partner, I'm single now and can focus on boxing which is a huge passion of mine. Played this and started shouting the lyrics the whole way through while drunk as shit, I feel great and my head is clear. Love this song, can't wait to see what happens.

This song is dedicated to my dad- hes not dead- He just is so great and has introduced me to a lot of great music. He loves Foo Fighters but won't go to a concert because "I can just watch them on my phone for free." I've been begging him to buy himself a ticket but he can't be convinced. I love him.

I bet that lead singer would be a pretty good drummer.

This is one of those songs that works SOO well with the night time. Driving around seeing all the city/neighborhood nights. Especially during a light rain in the city, the streets wet from the rain with the reflection of the red, green, blue, yellow street lights. It just works so well! City or neighborhood, doesn't matter :)

For me this song represents some kind of teenage romance; no preoccupations, no responsibilities, no concern for money, just pure love and affection. I just got with a girl and this is "our" song for this reason. We know we won't last forever and it'll eventually have to end. But this song represents what we have and what we'll have.
