my daughter is going to sing this solo at her 8th grade chorus concert. She overcame bullying and self-harm during middle school. I'm so proud of her, and this song to me is her letting go of that period of her life as she leaves middle school into high school. I can't wait to watch her sing live to all her peers.

so... she is haunted by her past traumas and the broken, hurt girl she was that was affected by them. she runs away from it her whole life, until the end when she finally destroys the version of herself that was hurt-- symbolizing how she finally let go of her past. and he was there for her the whole time. i cried watching this video, i hope everyone can symbolically burn the dark parts of their past

i started listening to this song when i was 16. ive always been told iāve been mature for my age growing up, due to a lot of abuse i endured. the year i was 16 was one of the worst years of my life. i talked my father out of committing su!c!de, twice, which was incredibly traumatizing for me at the time. i struggled heavily with depression, to the point where i contemplated my own life at one point. i spent hours staring out my bedroom window when it rained, and have a vivid memory of just standing in the rain crying for something to pull me out of my pain. i fell behind in school after being an honours student, and missed close to over 100 days of school. this song truly did save me. i happened to be playing my spotify on a random shuffle which is what led to me finding this song. i think this song had such an emotional toll on me because the lyrics resonated with me so well. here i am, now 17, coming back to this song as my dad is in the hospital, nearing his death bed. i feel this song will stick with me for the rest of my life. thank you cte ā¤

Did you stand there all alone?
Oh, I cannot explain what's goin' down
I can see you standin' next to me
In and out somewhere else right now
You sigh, look away
I can see it clear as day
Close your eyes, so afraid
Hide behind that baby face
Do-do-do
Do-do-do
You can drive all night
Lookin' for the answers in the pourin' rain
You wanna find peace of mind
Lookin' for the answer
Funny how it seems like yesterday
As I recall, you were lookin' out of place
Gathered up your things and slipped away
No time at all, I followed you into the hall
Cigarette daydream
You were only seventeen
Soft speak with a mean streak
Nearly brought me to my knees
Do-do-do
Do-do-do
You can drive all night
Lookin' for the answers in the pourin' rain
You wanna find peace of mind
Lookin' for the answer
If we can find a reason, a reason to change
Lookin' for the answers
If you can find a reason, a reason to stay
Standin' in the pourin' rain
Do-do, do, do, do
Do-do, do, do-do, do-do
Do-do, do, do, do
Do-do, do, do-do, do-do
You can drive all night
Lookin' for the answers in the pourin' rain
You wanna find peace of mind
Lookin' for the answer
If we can find a reason, a reason to change
Lookin' for the answer
If you can find a reason, a reason to stay
Standin' in the pourin' rain

I met my fiancĆ© when I was 17 and I was beyond depressed looking for a way out, tried to committed suicide at 17, then I met him. This year we celebrated our 6th year anniversary and we always play this song on our anniversary date. Itās been our song, since I was 17. I canāt wait to play this at our wedding next year, itās like the lyrics perfectly describe us, how I feel about him and how he feels about me.

I've always liked this band I'm a 64 year old man. I just get tired when I hear people my age saying there's no good music out there and I keep telling them there is if you look for it. You're so much of it out there music is good you're never too old to love good music. And I just like to style the song it's really laid-back.
