I have to give props to the interviewer for giving Dave plenty of room to answer without interruption, and for asking him about work-life balance, a question usually reserved for women. I loved reading about Dave's relationships with everyone who's important to him. He really does have a gift of storytelling.

Viewing this video in the wake of Taylor Hawkins' death, I'm struck by Grohl's words about losing his childhood friend/best friend, as well as Kurt C. and how he essentially still grieves over them. I cannot imagine what he is going through now. 😢. I wish him peace.

If you haven't read the book yet, get the Audible. Dave reads it and it is so freaking amazing. I laughed, I cried. A LOT. I have the utmost respect for Dave. He never takes anything for granted and he is just kind.

Such a great story teller. His Mom was a teacher - his Dad a speech writer. They valued literacy and story telling in their home. Lucky for us all. Much peace to you Dave after the loss of your great friend, brother and band mate Taylor. The world stands with you in our grief. ❤

This guy is an incredible human being. What an extraordinary mom he has. A teacher that not only supported her son bailing on education in exchange for pursuing a musical dream, but also raising a solid, humble, decent gentleman.

I have listened to his book on audiobook 2 times already... What a genuinely lovely man. And what a fascinating life. To hear him talking about his early days and to take the journey to where he is now is just so inspiring. He is so humble yet so full of joy for life, it is contagious...
