song analysis: my guess its about finding existentialism in loneliness. the speaker feels a sense of isolation as they struggle to maintain relationships. as relationships fail and loneliness hits, the speaker feels more and more disconected and struggles with this feeling that they are just a failure as a person, and barely even that. there's all sort of diction associated with technology that correlates with feeling like a broken robot, being "made of bad code" and how they "glitch in the game". its a feeling of defeat and meaninglessness that comes with the realization you are alone. and that no matter what you do, you don't exist in the eyes of others which parallels the line at the start, "if nobody hears you are you really around" which promotes this idea taht so long as you aren't connected to someone, you don't truly exist.
its a really tragic song rly. especially when the speakers bends their back to appeal to others and be loved "you kinda failed the cool kid test i guess". and its all for the bare tiny thing of love or as its described in the song as "another tight hug"

I feel like this has some sort of connection to sweet hibiscus tea cause in it there’s a lyric that goes “I’m not your protagonist, I’m not even my own” and “and if you look outside you’ll see disintegrating trees the artificial way the sunlight bounces off the glitchy leave”
And on this song it talks about more glitches and not existing so it gives me the vibe of a side character in a video game but they’re the only one who knows they’re in a game or something like that

“I have received a few comments on my Genius interview that said like ‘oh wow, she doesn’t even need auto tune, she sounds just like the song.’ And that’s nice, thank you, I appreciate it… it didn’t occur to me to use auto tune. Like if I’d thought of it I super would’ve. I’m not above it, I’m far below it, and in fact I just purchased auto tune so I’m super gonna be fucking use it in the future. I love when the pitch is like fucking correct, and I love when shit sounds like a cyborg.” —Penelope (in a tiktok). Song fucking slaps, I love how it sounds like a cyborg lol.
