The ronin let out a small moan against you at your praise, the vibration causing you to take in a shaky breath. He raised his head up. “Love you too.”
The adoration in his eyes caused your heart to skip a beat.
He leaned in, closing the distance between you two— so, so close. A smirk tugged on his lips, his eyes flickering between your lips and eyes. The anticipation could’ve killed you with how you were subconsciously holding your breath.
“What are you waiting for?” you managed, beginning to become antsy under his gaze.
“Tell me what you want,” he stated. “Or I’m afraid I can’t do anything.”
Your gaze averted his. Of course. He seemed to nearly worship when you voiced just what you wanted.
You swallowed before bringing yourself to look at him again.
“Kiss me,” you breathed. “Please.”
That was all he needed before he was crashing into you again.
His dewed lips were almost hypnotizing, sliding against yours as he tugged you closer. His tongue traced your bottom lip, causing you to let out a small moan against him. You pushed harder into him, his ocean breeze scent had you in a trance and you feared you’d go insane from just how good it all felt.

At least it had until you noticed the leaves falling and the tinted redness of them. The same tint that brought out his eyes.
"I apologize for keeping the truth away from you but please will you hear me out?" he pleaded, trekking behind you and leaving some space between you. "Are you upset that I'm leaving? I am considered a traveler though I don't usually stay in one place." he reasoned following you.
That wasn't it. Not in the slightest. He brought life into you. Showed you the beauty of nature. Shared stories about one another. Now he's leaving. It's like he's taking his light with him. Tears threatened to spill from your eyes as the thoughts weighed down on you more. Lost in thought, you suddenly felt him gently hold your shoulder.

Reluctantly, you turned to look at him. Your animosity towards him was clear. Tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. Silence so deafening you could hear Kazuha's breaths. You have both taken a seat under a withering maple tree.

He smells like maple leaves and . . . the breeze. The way he seemed to have no distinct scent, had one at the same time confused them greatly. From the times they have made eye contact from afar to the intimate nights they spent entangled, there was always the lingering scent of maple. It is always sweet, always light. They do not notice it unless they pay attention to the air around them.
It always seemed to be lighter when Kazuha is around as well. Things do not seem as hard, it is more relaxed. It may be due to how easy he is to get along with, or the amount of times they screamed his name as white spots danced along their vision. They are likely the only ones noticing the change in the air. It could be drawn to their feelings for the former fugitive, or the thoughts of their late nights being on their mind instead of the comission they just picked up.
It became a problem for them rather quickly- they are too focused on their mind and not what is in front of them. The quality of their work declined as well. He would notice, his eyes that seemed to be endless pools of wine red when they would meet. It is true that they are a lighter color, but lust has been their main connection for the past seven months.
This is tiring. Watching him with Beidou and her crew annoys them. They know that he does not belong to them, and that they do not belong to him, but they wish he would say something about it instead of slipping poetic flirts during mundane conversations. Well, the conversations were not mundane to others. Their mind is simply elsewhere, specifically, the way he bent them over this very table just a week prior. It was all they thought about until he decided to bring it up in conversation after dinner aboard Beidou's ship.
One thing would always lead to another, and the next day they would end up sleeping on top of Kazuha.
