My father born in 1925 passed recently. this was his era and moms. He was a naval officer for 34 years starting in ww2. I
have all the pictures and letters of their life back then. It really was a better time and place in US then than now - I had many conversations with him about just that subject- till we meet again Mom and Dad

Now that I think of it I don't think I have ever had a first love. I've liked others but I think I've never been in love...a little past my 20's and no boyfriend because I've always been introverted when it comes to romance, as guys these days want you to be the one to declare your love, move in before marriage, propose to them, and want to move so quickly it's scary...seem to have lost touch with their feelings, the subtlety, and clean charm. Call me old fashioned but I've always thought I should have been born in the 40's or 50's or maybe even before then. I'm sure there have always been tumultuous times and unsavory characters throughout history but in terms of friendship and romance, the slower pace, the gentle manners, hopefulness, and sweetness of those times cannot compare to today. Sometimes when I'm out and people watching I will look at the elderly couples and many of them show such respect, kindness, and mutual admiration in their gestures and I find myself smiling...not every elderly couple is outwardly expressive but you can feel when the foundation is there; a relationship most likely built with years of struggle, understanding, and compromise, sure, but most importantly enduring love and commitment to one another...❤...Thank you for this playlist
