My grandma passed away 2 days ago. She was 103 years old (104 in October), but still one the most constant people in my life. When I listen to this, it makes me tear up a little.

This music is so dreamy and romanticā€¦itā€™s so calming and beautifulā€¦perfect music for slow dancing either with your special someone or just by yourselfā€¦in the darkā€¦It makes you go back in time and daydreamā€¦.It has a nostalgic sound to it even if you werenā€™t alive during this timeā€¦

That touch of soft rain in the background added such perfection to this playlist. Thank you for making these

So much better than the radio today. What an age of true innocence and romance.

My mom and dad were terrific dancers. They met 1938-1940 at Roseland Ballroom, in New York City. They lived in Manhatten. My lived in SOHO about a 15 minute subway ride. Dad lived in Times Square Area (Hells Kitchen) so he walked there that nite.

Just close your eyes with the one you love and sway with this music together. No better pleasure in life.

This music is hauntingly familiar. I wasnā€™t born or grew up in that time but this strikes something inside.

Reminds me of my grandfather, he just passed away earlier this year at the age of 100. I was raised by him and my grandmother for two and a half years in elementary school. That experience gave me an appreciation for this kind of music. I will really miss that entire generation of people, they had such class and grace, traits that their children and grandchildren are unfortunately lacking.

This is the kind of music that I could just sit and listen to at night absently staring out into a dreamā€¦.Or slow dancing in a long gorgeous evening gown with my loveā€¦.or just listening to this by myself slow dancingā€¦.Itā€™s so calmingā€¦.it puts you in this dreamy, sleepy stateā€¦I love itā€¦

If I had the chance to go back in time to just witness this period while being able to leave anytime I want, Iā€™d do it. Watching as a ghost essentially, just to know what it was like to witness.

Sadly I was born in the 90s. I was always told growing up that I was born in the wrong era, that I had an old soul. I would've loved growing up in the early thirties into the forties, becoming a movie actress and meeting wonderful people in old Hollywood. I want to go back in time and tell people like Marilyn Monroe, that shes loved and we will fight for her.

This is the music I grew upā€¦tons of 40ā€™s. Absolutely beautiful, fun and good. I love the 30ā€™s, 50ā€™s and 60ā€™s as well but I mainly grew up with the 40ā€™s so they hold more importance to me. Bing Crosby, Vaughn Monroe, Glen Miller, Andrews Sisters and many other artists are the artists of my childhoodā€¦.

I legit feels that I was born in a wrong wrong era. My soul belong in my grandpa's era. Lord knows how bad that longing feeling you have when you listen to certain music. But it's even worse when you don't know who or what you are longing to. you feel like you are falling in love, missing that half of you, wishing that you can go back to the time you met that half of you. you know it's a good music if it makes you feel all of that
