quick POV ;) I gazed dully at their terrified faces, my eyes tracing over their trembling figures as they attempted to gather the courage to confront me. I glanced down at my nails boredly before letting out a disappointed sign at their lack of action. Honestly, how could five people hesitate like this? They had the advantage in theory, numbers and brute force was always their go to plan to try and conquer “evil”. Although I must give them credit for using their brains for once, they had realized I wasn’t someone who could be beaten with such a simpleminded plan. They used to be my comrades, friends as I once called them. If I stopped for a moment, I’m sure I could remember all the pleasant times we had together in the past. Drinks and meals shared, laughter echoing behind us. Others would describe that as perhaps “good times”, but I’ve learned through my journey to power that moments like those could only be called weakness. Weakness that would lead to my downfall. I couldn’t afford to even take a moment to reminisce, it would be a blunder leading to my end. I hadn’t seen them in quite some time, but as I studied each of their faces more I found features that weren’t in my memories. A scar here and there, unkempt facial hair and certainly more battleworn figures. The thing that stood out to me were their eyes, filled with fear and uncertainty. A slow smile spread across my face, I enjoyed watching how their eyes flicked to each other, almost like they were trying to silently communicate with one another. They had no plan to defeat me, but I had numerous plans against them. It was only fair, they were the ones who made me this way. The betrayals, lack of good will and in the end, abandoning me to be killed. I pondered why people called them “heroes”, they were the worst scum on the earth. For a villain to call someone else scum, that should mean something. Not that the general population would care. They clung to labels like their lives depended on it, and that’s what will bring their downfall. For I had been scorned, and thus I shall bring forth worse suffering upon those too ignorant to avoid it. I know, I’m the villain. But what’s wrong with that? People love a good villain.
