Dr. Rowe shows easy exercises that can give quick relief for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).

If you're unfamiliar with BPPV, it's a type of vertigo that is commonly seen with quick motions of the head (think turning your head, or rolling over in bed). A common cause of this is displaced crystals in your inner ear canal that disrupt near-by balance receptors.

Common symptoms of BPPV are dizziness, spinning sensations, loss of balance, nausea, and motion sickness.

To help fix this, we're going to go over several vertigo exercises designed to treat BPPV. All of these exercises work a little different, so to get the best results, go through them all and use what gives you the most relief.

As a bonus, the exercises can be done at home, require no equipment, and may give relief within seconds.

Watch now and relieve your vertigo in seconds!

I have suffered from this nightmare for a while back. It was so strong that I spent many badly slept or sleepless nights for months. I do not wish this to my worst enemy. The eppley maneuver helped me a lot but the cost was high. It triggered the vertigo so bad there was times I almost cried. It took a lot of courage to keep doing this exercises. But this is the way. You gotta go through the motions, Literally. Don't loose hope. As bad as it sounds it will pass.

Today is day 36 of vertigo for me. This has been debilitating and severely impacting my life. I’ve gone to the ENT just to be told “wait it out” then back again and told to do PT and go low sodium. Nothing has been helping me. I found this video and while I can’t imagine doing the somersault exercise week 1 with how much I was spinning, I did it today and I felt better! I think if I can keep this up for a few more days I might actually be done with this horrible vertigo. THANK YOU THANK YOU . I honestly wanted to cry because I have been so sick dizzy and unable to do anything. I will keep up with this

This doctor is an excellent presenter.....clear, easy to understand, right rhythm of not too slow or fast, and really has excellent breakdown of each exercise. Kudos to him--great job!

PT just did the Epily Maneuver. After 7 hours of not moving my head…as if in a C collar….I was cured. I had vertigo for 16 days! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I first got vertigo in 2000 when flying to San Diego. A sudden drop over the mountains while i was retrieving my purse from under the seat set me into severe vertigo the next morning after waking. Hotel doc prescribed motion sickness meds and it got better later that day, but flying was not advisable. Fast forward, i still have bouts a few times every year. 5 years ago after the Epley maneuver, i sat down in a chair and it felt like the floor opened up and i was free falling. I held on and shook like a reed in the wind. Scared my husband. I get very apprehensive about doing any excercises now. Creeps me out. Elevator quick drops set vertigo off too. A lot of people suffer from vertigo. Its what caused the demise of my dear dad.

After about 18 months of not having any vertigo episodes I was all of a sudden experiencing some of the worst vertigo I have ever had. I was afraid to drive. I did the Brandt-Daroff exercise for 1 round and now my vertigo is completely gone! Literally 15 minutes of self treatment has freed me. I obviously don't know if/when it will come back but this has seemed cure me. I guess my crystals have been reset. Who knows what's gonna happen but right now I am elated. This is worth a try if you're suffering.

My mum had this during lock down for a number of days, couldn't see a doctor etc. The first one was a bit too hard for her because of her age and mobility, but the couch method worked basically the first time, like magic after suffering for days.

I had that happen to me. It was horrible. I did the Epley Maneuver 3 or 4 times that resolved the issue. Thank God for good teachers like you. You have to hang in there and do the maneuver several times until the symptoms are gone It works.

In my case, the first exercise in 30 seconds actually cured my vertigo. Much appreciated.

I have suffered from extreme motion sickness for over 3 weeks. PT did Epley manuver etc . Your example that worked for me was the somersault positioning. I am forever grateful for your example.

I'm so glad this video popped up in my feed. I've been having horrible dizziness and vertigo for about 3 weeks now and it's really crippling. I work from home but I've had to take time off because this has been so terrible. I'm seeing a PT tomorrow finally and I'm betting they'll help me with these exercises 🙌

Thank you for this video. I did the Foster maneuver and immediately afterward, was able to lie down on either side with zero dizziness. It worked for me. Feel completely fine today. However, doing the exercise to check which ear is affected it was a little scary. Immediately made me vomit. So make sure you have a bucket ready just in case.

I am having vertigo for 3rd time in 20 years. Have been to chiropractor & acupuncture & ER. ER doc says all I need is exercises. I have tried the first 2 exercises on this video & so far they seem to be helping. Thank you.

Something that can help with vertigo as you are doing these maneuvers is to put in tight fitting earplugs or a few drops of olive oil and some cotton. This works because there is generally an increased pressure behind your eardrums when you are suffering vertigo and adding in either earplugs or oil and cotton, creates a bit of equalization from the outside. I have had vertigo for more than a decade and when I feel it coming on and I need to function, I plug my ears and do either the foster or epley

These same symptoms have been a nightmare for almost 10 years. At first I was not able to understand the reason for my vertigo but now i know while sleeping on my right side I get vertigo. Medicines are a temporary relief. I do exercise quite similar to this which is nauseating. I still avoid looking at my phone while lying on the bed and when I am in the car as that increases my symptoms.

My first bout with this vertigo was in 2020 and it put me in bed for 5 days! The first 6 hrs I couldn’t leave the bathroom floor because of the nausea! Went to doc on day 5 and went through the eply and started to get better right away. I have mild bouts now every now and then! I get well enough to forget about it then out of nowhere it reminds me it’s still around! Fortunately it has been fairly mild but bad enough to keep me from being motivated to do much except exercises. This couch method worked really well for me today! Thank you!
