I tried licorice candy when i was in göteborg.
I kind of liked the taste of it, because licorice is common as a drink in Egypt.
But also as in Sweden, many people don't like and as you said, it's a "love it or hate it" thing

Where I am from there is a store called Sweetish - A Swedish Candy Store and I have tried some things from it. Though sadly they haven't got in my favorite candy in again. It is Bilar ( Sursockrade) I am hoping when I visit them in August that they did get some in.

The last time we were in Stockholm we went to Café Järntorget a few times for ice cream. I would get the licorice flavored ice cream with pieces of Daim candy in it. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten!
I also really liked Japp candy. It was very chewy if I recall correctly.

Luckily we have a lot of the swedish candy here in germany aswell! Like Daim, Coke Bottles, Toblerone (my favorite <3) and the Licorice.
With the Licorice it´s the same conflict, you either hate it or love it.. I think it´s more popular in the norhtern part of germany^^

Every time I go to Sweden for work, I always pick up a few Marabou milk chocolate bars. Some may disagree with me, but I think it is MUCH better than chocolate in the USA. I must note that I am only about an hour away from Hershey, Pa, and I still say that Marabou is so much better!
