I never noticed the hangman glitch until someone pointed it out to me years ago.
I was one of those kids that was never really scared of Luigi's Mansion. the only thing that made me nervous was seeing the final boss because at that point I've never fought Bowser outside Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. the "Disc can't be read" screen got me noice how the game operated, but I'll admit the music stopping was a bit creepy.

There was other rumors about the hangman glitch, one of them were that after failing to rescue Mario, Luigi would finally snap and take his own life since he can't live with the fact that his brother is forever gone because of him. It is an extremely dark rumor.

Personally, I think this was right after the first time Mario fought Bowser, so nobody knew about his inexplicable ability to defy death yet.

You sorta turned King Boo into a sympathetic villain in this video by saying that Mario has caused the boos countless torment and that King Boos was just avenging his friends. This gets me thinking, is Luigi perhaps the villain in this story? I mean, the way you phrased how the ghost could potentially be in eternal isolation in the paintings doesn’t really make it sound like what Luigi’s doing is heroic. I mean, the game even humanizes these ghosts! This game just implies so much and is so bold!

Luigi's Mansion cannot be chronologically last, as Superstar Saga's Starbean Cafe clearly shows it comes after, and it can be assumed the Mario RPG's (besides SS/CS, which are in a storybook) appeared in chronological order when looking at Luigi's character developement between the RPG's and LM games

hi i just found you're channel and i am loving this dark aspects series. i have subscribed and cant wait to see more videos like this. also not sure if you had heard this but apparently there was going to be a boss in the safari room who was a hunter that threatened to mount luigis head on the wall but was removed because nintendo said it was "too scary"

In my oppinion, the darkest aspect of the entire Luigi's Mansion series has to be the game over sequence in Luigi's Mansion 3. I trust you'll be mentioning it in your upcoming review 😉

ugh......that last thing being named "L" in the files tells me it might have had something to do with Luigi, and judging on it's disfigured, mangled body and what seems to be a chasing animation, it couldn't have been good.....

I've also seen it speculated that King Boo was Bowser's ghost, thus even more thoroughly explaining his grudge against the Marios and his use of Bowser's decapitated body in the final boss fight. Obviously not something Nintendo would confirm at this point even if it had been the intended reading.
