That message is that people should not be judged by what they look like and that people should not be changing themselves just to impress others. Something that really shocked me about this song apart from the lyrics is that during the video at some point the boys take pieces of the cake and Crybaby looks upset. She didn't give it to them, they took it and that's not right. It's another detail that makes K-12 an amazing and interesting experience.

Omg I just realized something! Melanie is a GENIUS! The pool is literally exactly like the pool in the 1997 movie Lolita, wherein a young girl is sexualized in the same way the song talks about. Itâs such a short, brief moment in the movie but itâs SO PERFECTLY represented here!
