Why is nasal breathing important for weightlifting and exercise? Well, it turns out your nose has evolved to be the best instrument to get oxygen into your lungs, and you need that oxygen to give you strength and energy when you're exercising. Let's get into it. So when air goes into your nose, the first thing that happens is you have these nasal hairs.
So don't clip them all. They actually keep bacteria and bugs from getting into your nose. The second thing is you have these things called nasal turbinates. These will humidify and warm the air so that it doesn't go into your lungs, because if cold air goes into your lungs, sometimes your lungs can actually close shut, and that prevents oxygen from getting in optimally.
You need that oxygen to get into your lungs to help your exercise and fitness actually be meaningful. And so again, if you have problems with breathing through your nose, you have allergies, you have a deviated nasal septum, it's probably worth figuring that out to make sure that you can perform the best and focus on your exercise and fitness plan. Thanks.

Hi doc! Can you do a video about this:
“However, we suspected that this association also runs the other way, i.e., the negative intrathoracic pressure caused by the increased respiratory effort due to nasal airway obstruction, from septal deviation or otherwise, may lead to gastric contents overcoming the upper esophageal sphincter and result in symptoms of LPR.”
I have a moderate deviated septum and get reflux feeling and nausea feeling when moving around while standing and swimming. I have a deviated septum surgery scheduled because it is moderate the doc said.
