Yes i have had that happen. But i was filling in a sudoku. Even though im not autistic i still have nerdy hobbies .and i was told this by a barista when i was just sitting there having my Coffee and filling in the sudoku. And he was very surprised and asked if i actually liked doing that. I said it eased my nerves very much and i do it for 15 minuten or half an hour before i do my other job. Which is writing.
I do human interest writing but i have adhd so it might go all over the place so if i do something with my left brain it improves my concentration and coherence of the story.
But i didnt tell him all that. He seemed very angry that i liked sudoku. Or i do solitaire on my phone. Since i quit smoking i tried different things for nerve moments or to get started. He was like "i never seen a someine actually liking that i dont like girls who do these things. i wanted to tell him i didnt like beards but then i didnt want to be that rude. Live and let live.
It might be a guy liking you at first and then your hobby made him realize you are not his type? Is that the reason he gets angry?
