Paranjoy Guha Thakurta is a journalist, writer, & documentary maker. His professional career started in June 1977 as a print journalist. His work experience, spanning more than four decades, cuts across different mass media: the written word, the spoken word, & the audio-visual medium – printed publications & websites, radio & podcasts, television & documentary cinema. He is a writer, speaker, anchor, interviewer, teacher, analyst/commentator, publisher, producer, director, & consultant.
Much of his work is in three languages: English, Bengali & Hindi. His main areas of interest are the working of the political economy & the media in India & the world, on which he has authored/co-authored seven books & directed/produced over 20 documentary films, two music videos & many short videos.
