I will be offering a special donation class on my website (www.maevemccaffrey.com/livestream) on June 22nd as part of , a global yoga fundraiser event for the dogs who are victims of the Yulin Festival and the dog meat trade that spans across SE Asia. You can donate to me when you sign up for the class or directly to (www.facebook.com/WOWRescueSociety). You can also just show up and practice in solidarity. I will post the class here after, of course!
I do not have a vast amount of knowledge about the Yulin Festival or the cat/dog meat trade as I simply cannot dive too deep into the subject matter; it is too painful. If you've watched the guest appearances of Little Mister and Liu Liu in my videos, you'll know that I am a lover of cats, but really, all animals. I figured the emotionally safest way for me to support is to foster awareness and to donate as best I can. If you're like me and it's a sensitive subject, I encourage you to read as little or as much as you feel comfortable about the topic, but I will share that pets are not immune to this trade.
