ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

I know that many of my new followers have found me through my hiking videos, but WILDR is about experiencing the world around us through all avenues of adventure. Skiing, canoeing, swimming, climbing, skating and...running!

Tomorrow, I'm going to be opening up our Run the Summer 5 Km Challenge. The perfect summer challenge, with 20 minute workouts and runs for 6 weeks to make the last 6 weeks of summer the best! The best part is you'll be running a 3-5 km faster by the end of the program!

But, I'm opening up our early-bird pricing to EVERYONE for TODAY ONLY! 💥

I’ve built this program so that every workout will leave you feeling BETTER than when you started it. It's also designed to help fuel your other adventures - like hiking! - without taking away from them.

Here’s exactly what you’re going to get:

⚡️ An intro call with me that sets you up for success for the next six weeks. No more feeling confused on how to implement a running training program!

⚡️ 3 - 4 short, focused 20 minute runs per week. Not hours of training each week or even need to go to the gym.

⚡️ Regular coach check-ins that will remind you of your goals and keep you stoked for your runs! You’re not left on your own to be motivated and focused!

⚡️ Mobility and strength sessions that can be done in six minutes or less. There’s no need to stop other activities you’ve got going on!

⚡️ A goal-based program that will have a measurable accomplishment by the end of summer. No more guessing if you’ve actually made progress!

If you have races this Fall lined up or want to get back into running this summer, this is the perfect program to UP your running speed and make slower speeds easier.

I AM PUMPED for this program!

We kick things off on Monday, so if you'd like to jump in you can do so here! www.wildr.ca/run-the-summer-5k-challenge

DYK 🤔

If you feel like your run is the SAME every day (on repeat), 1 small change can totally change your running
and make it WAY EASIER.

Here's what most runners miss...

There are 5 Aspects of Cardio or what I call the 5 S's:

S5️⃣ Spring/Spring
S4️⃣ Surge
S3️⃣ Strive
S2️⃣ Steady
S1️⃣ Saunter

If you miss JUST 1 of these S's in your running training, your running progress will be held back. We need to have all of these S in our training during the week.

BUT the cool thing is, you can hit these areas in short 20-minute, hyper-focused workouts during the week.
For example, if I need to hit my Sprint/Spring S for the week because I've been doing a lot of long-distance, Steady runs, I'd do the following workout at least once a week.

➡️ 5-Minute Easy Warm-Up

➡️ 20-Step Slight Up-Hill Accelerations
➡️ 1:40 Easy Run
(Repeat 3 - 5 Times)

➡️ 3 Minute Cool Down

I go into the "why" this training is so important in my FREE MASTERCLASS. You can watch the on-demand video where I cover the 4 Secrets to Break Through Running Plateaus and How to Finally Run Faster Without Getting Tired!

It's awesome for first-time runners and those wanting to break through any training ruts (and there's an exclusive offer you'll want to get before July 22

Probably the #1 question people ask me about running is how to make it feel effortless.

What shocks a lot of people about getting “better” at running is actually SUPER SIMPLE and will take less time than you think!

🏃‍♀️ And I’m going to be talking about the system I use at WILDR to Break Through Running Plateaus and How to Finally Run Faster Without Getting Tired! 🏃‍♀️

The actual time it takes to get better is just one of four secrets that I'm going to talk about in my upcoming Masterclass on July 17.

I am so excited to share these training secrets so you can get more out of your training.

Date: Wednesday, July 17, 2024
Time: 8:00 AM MST | 7:00 AM PST | 10:00 AM EST

Celebrating Canada Day with a new month challenge! 🇨🇦

Our first Adventure Ready Monthly Challenge is already complete (I can't believe it!) and I'm stoked to dive into July's challenge.

Let's take in as much of the world as possible this summer☀️

📲 Make sure to save this or take a screenshot and add it to your phone's background!

We all deserve to live an adventurous life and I want to help you get out and explore the world around you too. 🙂 Sometimes I find that a little push, be it a challenge or an event, can get you to take that extra step to make the magical experiences happen.

☀️ Let's squeeze the goodness out of this summer.

Jump into this month's challenge with me as we work to take in as much of the world as possible.

📲 Make sure to save this or take a screenshot and add it to your phone's background!

As folks around here know, I define fitness as my capacity to interact with the world around me.

I want to experience the world fast and experience the world slow. I want to see it from the highest mountaintops and then also be immersed in the rivers that run towards this view.

Every one of those experiences to me is like coloring in the top lines on the map (or crossing off one of these boxes!).

We all deserve to live an adventurous life and I want to help you get out and explore the world around you too. 🙂 Sometimes I find that a little push, be it a challenge or an event, can get you to take that extra step to make the magical experiences happen.

Let's do this!! 🏔️💪

I’m super stoked to be opening our 8-Week Hike-Ready Program for a 2nd time as people keep asking me about the best way to get ready for hiking season.

Want to hike 10-20 km without slowing down? ⚡️

One of the current participants said it best, “My legs are on fire today! In a good way!”

This is the best time to join because 8 weeks from now, you’ll be able to:

👉 Hike back-to-back days without slowing down because your knees hurt or you feel tired.
👉 Can handle hikes that are longer, higher, or unexpected.
👉 Worry less about facing an injury on the scree slopes or those steep climbs.
👉 Make the most of the hike trips you have planned.

And those 8 weeks are going to pass anyways, so you might as well work towards moments on ridgetops and summits, when your body is ready, you are more likely to go,

And this is one of my favorite training programs because it not only gets you ready for hiking but it crosses over into every other summer sport; running, biking, paddling, swimming, gardening...all of the amazing activities we do during this season.

Are you thinking about your 2024 resolutions?

I am totally not opposed to resolutions. I think the concept of a "reset" works (it's called the Fresh Start Effect and I use it in all my client training programs!)

But, what researchers have found is that January 1 actually wasn't a great Reset Day in terms of sticking with new habits. 😳

Instead, starting a new habit on Monday or the first day of Spring (or Winter!) are better days than the first day of the year.

There's also not the pressure of the "New Year, New Me!" mentality that doesn't leave us a lot of room for when we have those periods of inconsistency...life happens!

As you think about your training goals or resolutions this year, here are two tips that I follow when I'm creating new habits:

1️⃣ Build Reset Days into your calendar. Maybe it's every second Monday or every Sunday, whatever works for you. Press reset and jump back in.

2️⃣ Remove the barriers that are stopping you right now. Maybe it's buying a new pair of shoes to go running or getting headphones that don't fall out. Bust through that barrier now so you don't have to deal with it when you start working out.

3️⃣ Remember to 'Act as if'. Act as if you have already achieved your goal, embody that version of you
