Can we always be Happy?

Many people believe that they can't be always happy in life, and strongly believe that one should not expect to be happy always. With this belief, they hold back their happiness as soon as they are happy for sometime. They do this only due to their limiting belief that a person can’t always be happy, and suffering should be part of their life to balance their happiness.

Physical suffering due to accidents and disease is unavoidable, and we should take care of them right away. But mental suffering is totally a choice. It is our limiting beliefs that make us suffer. Happiness is a state we reach, when our mind is free of desires and expectations. So, yes, we can actively choose to be happy always. But we can also choose to suffer and enjoy happiness only once in a while. It's our choice.

Emotions First or Situations First?

Most of us believe that our emotions are a response to external situations - like people, incidents, memories from the past etc. Is this really true?Comments and attitude of others might raise intense emotions in us sometimes. But if we are in a very happy place, we might not feel the same intense emotions, but simply brush off their comments. In reality, our emotions are a choice we make, not something we take on from others.

Could it be that, first we choose an emotion we want to experience, and then we look for situations, memories, and people around us who can help us invoke that emotion in us? And we then blame others for the emotion that we chose ourselves?

We can change our Past

Yes, we can change our Past. Our past is just a collection of thoughts and memories. We go through billions of incidents in our lives, but we hold on to only few specific memories from the past. Why is that?

At any given time, we choose to have a specific self-image about ourselves. Either as a victim of the past, blessed by the past, someone who overcame obstacles, someone who was neglected etc. Depending on the self-image we choose at any given time, we hold on to specific memories from the past to make that self-image stay alive. As soon as we choose to have a different self-image about ourselves or others, we need different memories from the past to support that new self-image. And with that our Past also changes.

Are Emotions Habits?

All of us are used to experiencing Emotions throughout our lives. What is the reason that we experience one type of Emotion but not the other at any given time? One assumption we make about Emotions is that they are caused by factors external to us like people, situations, environment etc. Is this assumption really true?

In fact, emotions are our habits. At any given point, we decide ourselves to experience a specific Emotion out of Habit. We then look for situations, people, memories, and other things to invoke that emotion in us and experience it. How would you deal with your own Emotions knowing that you are the one choosing them, not that they are given to you by others?

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Omega 3 Fatty Acids are important for heart health, eye and brain health, and are necessary for the functioning of cells. Getting enough Omega 3 Fatty Acids from our diet also reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, stroke, dementia, and depression and it can also lower blood pressure.

You can find these Fatty Acids in fish and seafood, flaxseed, chia seeds, walnuts, soybeans, seaweed, spinach, and in certain plant oils such as soybean, flaxseed and canola oil.

Is Worry really Jealousy?

Is other's Worry for you, in reality their Jealousy and Fear disguised as Love? Why is it that people close to you always worry about things that you do which take you beyond what others did in their own life? Why is it that, it is almost never that someone worries for you that you are not exploring and pushing the limits of your life enough? Why is it that Worry comes in always when you are exploring life and pushing boundaries beyond others’ limits?

Could it be that others are jealous about your freedom, and they are scared that you might venture into areas where they don't have a way to connect with you? Can you clearly distinguish between people who constantly worry about you, and those who guide you and make you aware of possible pitfalls on your chosen path even though it is new for them?

Good, Bad, and Goals

What is considered Good in one culture, might be Bad in other cultures. What is considered as a Right thing by someone, may be considered as Wrong by others. So how would someone personally decide what is Good or Bad for them?

Good and Bad, Right and Wrong are subjective, and are dependent on the Goals and Values that a person decides for himself/herself. Considering everything that is being done is legal, it is Good/Right for that person if it takes that person closer to their Goals, and Bad/Wrong if it takes them away from their Goals. Could this be the reason why, what is Good for someone might be Bad for others, as the Goals and Values of people are different?

Breastfeeding Benefits

Breastfeeding has important benefits for both mother and the baby. Breast Milk is naturally adapted to the needs of the baby, always providing it with the necessary nutrients it needs. It produces antibodies to protect the baby from different diseases and infections, and helps the baby build a strong immune system.

Hormones released during breastfeeding helps the mother lose pregnancy weight faster, and the hormone Oxytocin helps her bond with the baby. And there are also long-term effects for mothers like reduced risk of high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and breast and ovarian cancer.

Which Integrity to Protect?

The world respects someone very highly if they have Integrity. But which Integrity is respected by others? Every human has in-built instincts to protect the integrity of their physical body, so this ability is there in everyone. The image of who we believe we are keeps changing, so our self image doesn't have integrity. Our ability to meet the expectations of others also keeps changing over our lifetime, so that image also doesn't have integrity.

If integrity means the same as Honesty or Trustworthiness, why is there a separate word called Integrity? Is the expectation of Integrity by others, is to make sure the image of who they think you are in their minds stays the same over time? Exactly which integrity are you trying to preserve for others?

Progression Runs

Progression Runs can help you improve endurance, fitness, stamina, and help you run faster but in a way that is safe for your body.

Progression Run is done by first warming up the body by running slowly for sometime, and then gradually increasing the speed in increments until you reach your target speed, and at the end cooling down the body by running at a slow pace for sometime. One example is - start with 5 minutes of slow run, then increase the speed and run for 5 more minutes, continue increasing the speed in increments and run for 5 minutes each. After you run for 5 minutes at your target speed, run at a slow pace for 5 more minutes to cool down your body.
