Do you eat kiwi? I was introduced to kiwi in 10th grade by a classmate in a summer camp.

In my last video I talk about overcoming a processed sugar addiction while still eating natural sugars like those in fruit. This strawberry/kiwi combo is my current go-to ā€œsweet treatā€. So good! šŸ˜‹ #weightlossjourney #weightlosstips

It doesnā€™t take very long to start seeing progress. You just have to start and not quit. Stay tuned for more info on the upcoming 30-day challenge. Happy Monday!

When I got down to 190 lbs last year I decided to train for a 5k. Unfortunately the upcoming race I wanted to run only had a 10k. I was absolutely not ready to run a 10k but signed up anyway.

I had exactly 10 weeks to train. Race day my only goal was to finish. I did just that in 1:16:56.

This morning I ran the same race again, a year later, and my goal was to break an hour. I shaved 18 minutes off last yearā€™s time and finished in a personal best 58:54.

What did I learn? Donā€™t fear failure. Lean into it and overcome it. We can do hard things. #weightlossjourney #beforeandafter #runningmotivation

20-mile long run done! Interesting enough, this isnā€™t the first time Iā€™ve signed up for a marathon. Iā€™ve signed up for several in the past but always let the 14-20 mile weekly long runs scare me out of training.

This time I knew I could do it. Iā€™ve taken the same approach as I did with 75 Hardā€¦focusing on one day at a time. Iā€™ve learned so much about myself over the past year, most importantly that I can do anything I put my mind to.

Check out the most recent video about my 75 Hard journey. I share my challenges, keys to success, lessons learned and if I recommend the challenge to others. #longrunSaturday #runningmotivation

Hereā€™s what I eat after a 10-mile long run!

Itā€™s peak week for marathon training and I had to complete 10 miles in the middle of the week, which meant taking a few hours off work so I could start after sunrise. I didnā€™t eat prior to my run and had 2 Gu gels during the run. Post-run meal was a protein shake, banana, kiwi and peanut butter. Check out the MFP screenshot for nutrition facts.

On deck is a 20-mile long run to finish up peak week! Marathon countdown is on! šŸƒšŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Always been an emotional eater so itā€™s no surprise I physically carried the weight of my worries. Getting in shape seemed to be a futile effort until I realized staying the same is hard. Changing your life is hard. At the end of the day I just had to choose my hard.

First pic is about 3 weeks before I started 75 Hard Challenge, second pic is 5 months post tummy tuck. Iā€™ve lost 85 lbs between these two pics.

Words matter! In May 2023 I typed into my IG Stories ā€œI wonā€™t recognize myself in a yearā€. At the time I had no idea what that meant and why I even stopped the treadmill to type it. But I wholeheartedly believed it then started putting in the work.

Weā€™re so quick to speak down on ourselves, but itā€™s the positive affirmations that push us to action. Choose your words wisely. The power of life is in the tongue!

What do you do when you fall short of your goal? šŸ¤”

Long run Saturday called for 12 miles on my feet. I was running up a hill at mile 9, got distracted and forgot to lift my knees. Fell face first into the pavement. Luckily my husband was there to help me up and dust me off. But what did I do next?

I kept running! The goal was 12 miles and I was determined to not let a fall keep me from my goal. So with a bruised shoulder and knee, I kept going.

And thatā€™s exactly what I want you to do. The journey isnā€™t perfect. Thereā€™s gonna be fall along the way. Dust yourself off and keep going. Thatā€™s the ONLY way to reach your goal!

Yesterday we kicked off our 22-year wedding anniversary with a 16-mile long run. I ran 16 miles while my husband ran 8 then biked 8 with me. Thankfully Iā€™m still married after all my running shenanigans. šŸ˜…

Thinking about going live this week for a short AMA session. If I can figure out how to go live Iā€™ll try it. #longrunsaturday #runningforweightloss

I was updating my IG Highlights and came across the two photos on the left and was stunned at the difference a year makes! Added the last photo which is almost 4 months post tummy tuck just to compare. What a journey it has been!

If youā€™re interested in seeing more highlights of my journey, check them out over on IG at UrsGetsFit. I tried to start from January 2023 and include what I could. Thereā€™s a period at the end of 2023 where my Stories didnā€™t save. Happy Thursday!
