A client suffering from depression due to multiple long-term health conditions (she has like seven diagnoses) and is experiencing pain all day long. She struggles to find pleasure or interest in anything.

However, one particular activity she enjoys and finds relaxing is swimming. She goes swimming once a month. I asked her, "I wonder if it is possible to add a second day to go swimming this month. What do you think about that?". She liked the idea and said she'd give it a go.

I wonder for you who's reading this caption. Is there an activity you value and feel you'd like to add more in your days, week, or month?

I could see that not only did he feel reassured, but it established a strong therapeutic alliance, and that is what I aim for from the get-go and throughout treatment.

Moreover, it is a continuous skill to help clients engage in treatment using behaviour change models like COM-B and motivational interviewing to evoke positive change.

So I say this to you who's reading: Don't give up! Keep on moving forward. If you're moving forward, it's way better than moving backwards.

Get active. Get out of bed. Get started. Yes, you're absolutely right. It is not easy to just start. That's why you get to choose your pace and build up the momentum.
