/FOCUS/ (noun) Directed attention
Like most humans-
I weave in and out of distractions.
Life is littered with tempting time suckers.
The one skill that has been paramount in creating a life that I love is FOCUS.
Focus on the changes you want to make and then take action towards those changes.
Here are some of the actions that helped me get from picture 1 to picture 2.
1. Getting accountable for what I was consuming
2. Prioritizing strength training
3. Staying consistent with workouts
4. Intermittent fasting
5. Expressing my emotions instead of stuffing them
6. Daily meditation practice since 2006
7. Constantly learning and reading
8. Treating my body like a gift instead of a problem
9. Moving my body daily because I love it - not because I hate it.
10. Learning to be disciplined and delay gratification.
11. Doing the hard things first.
12. Having a menu of self-soothing practices that were restorative instead of destructive.
My message is always this- if you don’t like where you are… MOVE 😃 you are not a tree. Getting unstuck is just a matter of taking one step into the right direction.
Start where you are with what you have and BEGIN.

“How long will it take?”
This question makes me smile.
When working on improving yourself- why are we in a such a rush?
YOU are the most important project you will ever work on.
Don’t settle for quick fixes and temporary solutions that are like bandaids on bullet wounds.
Go deep and tap into what can become a sustainable solution for you.
Here is what I have learned in over 13 years in the fitness industry and 2 decades of transformation of my own life:
The quick fix is never the long term solution.
Consistency wins.
It will take longer than you would like it to-
Keep going.
There is no prize for who gets there quickest- the reward is in the process.
I have spent years working on my physique, mindset and habits… and guess what?
I am not even close to being done.
The best thing I have learned was to fall in love with the process - and the results take care of themselves.
If you are a frequent flyer on the yo-yo plane…this is your sign to step out of that struggle and into the solution.

Grounded in gratitude for health.

I got stood up on Valentine’s Day and it brought me to a deep dark bottom.
It was February 2004 and I had moved to a little apartment in Yonkers NY - thinking that a move would somehow change me.
But there I was again…
Drinking bottles of wine and contemplating suicide.
I was financially broke AND emotionally broken.
I saw the world through the lense of LACK.
I was not enough.
There was not enough.
If you looked into my eyes they were vacant yet full of unresolved emotional pain.
Today - the world I inhabit has completely transformed… because I have transformed.
The way OUT … is IN.
It’s not a new address, a new car or a new wardrobe.
It’s an inside job.
No matter what I wear - (see slide 1 and 2) my mindset and character are unwavering.
It’s because I did the WORK.
I went inside and faced my insecurities, demons, and emotional trauma. It was not an overnight thing. I have spent 2 decades on a deep healing journey and I am still walking on that path.
Today, even though things are never “perfect”-
I KNOW that I am enough and I have enough,
I cherish every moment of life.
I am grounded in gratitude.
I share freely of what I find because I know deep in my soul that there is enough for all.
YOU are so worthy of all your heart calls you to do.
Are you listening?
Be still and listen.
Expansion. Growth. Energy.
It is all there for you to step into.

What can happen in 21 years?
A whole lotta growth.
In first pic I am in my early 20s.
Desperately depressed.
Drenched in sorrow, self hatred and unprocessed trauma.
A chain smoking addict with suicidal thoughts.
The second pic is 2025.
I am 45 strong and healthy.
Beaming with hope + light.
I am celebrating 21 years of sobriety this month so I wanted to share 21 powerful life lessons that I have picked up along the way.
Let me know which is your favorite in the comments.
1️⃣ If you want things to change, YOU have to change.
2️⃣ It’s an inside job.
3️⃣ Gratitude is an action word.
4️⃣ Out of self, into others.
5️⃣ “No.” is a complete sentence.
6️⃣ Rejection is God’s protection.
7️⃣ Just keep showing up.
8️⃣ Avoid manufacturing your own misery.
9️⃣ The pain of discipline is better than the pain of regret.
🔟 Don’t quit 5 minutes before the miracle.
1️⃣1️⃣ Change the things you can.
1️⃣2️⃣ Progress not perfection.
1️⃣3️⃣ Be kind whenever possible, it is always possible.
