She wasn't adopted, she was born the italian parents she claims adopted her. Her so called adopted sister and her son took DNA tests that show her sister and son are genetically related which is impossible if she were adopted. It's about time this came out as family have said she has threatened them for years to keep quiet. I know many native people who have told me for years they thought she was full of it with her Italian features and tan foundation she wears but they, like so many, feared saying anything because of backlash. Too bad this took so long but better late than never!

When Bluffy says she feels hurt I imagine the emotion is more anger than hurt. Anger because she got found out. And when she says it hurts others, she is being more accurate because people who trusted her found out she was lying to them and even using them for years. Most people in her position would feel shame but I think there’s something pathological about her and she may not be capable of feeling shame.

She played the role of a marginalized minority woman singing folk songs. This was a very savvy market position in 1960s America & Canada. But it was a persona with no validity. It was based on a false narrative. Saint-Marie should own up to this performance.

If she was Indigenous she would be registered in Indian affairs in Canada. I’m from sixty scoop adopted to Ohio. Made my way back to Canada at 13 it’s shameful that she would adoption as an excuse cuz their would be records from Children’s aid society and now using that adopted play with an indigenous band isn’t that so familiar with Joseph Boyden we have heard this before. It’s sad as hell. She is hurting a lot of us Indigenous people.
