The PragerU video does that really unhealthy and straight-up dangerous thing where it implies that not having a kid is the reason you're unhappy, rather than the reason you're unhappy being that you're overworked and can barely afford to live. It implies that having a kid will solve your problems, when in reality, if those problems are economic, having a kid compounds them.

There's a funnier one aimed at men that goes on and on about how married men make more money, work more hours, devote themselves more to their jobs,etc... It never seems to dawn on the guy narrating the video that having to work 30% more hours because you're responsible for a wife and kids isn't really a good argument for marriage.

Hope everyone's staying safe out there! And also, hope you enjoyed the video! If you did, and want to see the next one before it comes out, consider throwing me a few bucks on Patreon. The second part of this series is already there: www.patreon.com/bigjoel. Anyway have a nice day, and if you read on, you'll see the footnote to the video. . *Footnote*: So, at this point in her video, Chen says a few reasons why one might want to get married, âprotection, commitment, and love.â Now, this does kind of look like an argument, but to me, it doesnât qualify. I donât know exactly what she means by âprotection,â but as far as âcommitmentâ and âloveâ are concerned, sheâs basically just defining what the word âmarriageâ is. In modern society, everyone knows marriage is a commitment wherein you hopefully love the other person. Everybody, both people who want to get married and people who donât, accept this as what marriage is. So, what Chen says here does technically qualify as an argument, but itâs a totally vapid one that has literally no persuasive power. A bit like a car salesman telling you, âhereâs one reason you might want to buy a car: you can drive cars.â
