You're right Martina, sesame oil should totally be included in the taste pyramid, nothing else is like it. Just one drop and it completely transforms the dish.

Fun fact: the pan you used for the eggs says "Lycka" which means happiness in swedish 😁

Hi Martina, I've been watching your videos since 2009 when you taught me a ton about Korea so I was confident when I travelled there myself in the past. I'm also a pretty frequent traveller to Japan so I enjoyed your videos about both. Because of covid I couldn't travel anymore so I really miss Japan a lot i was able to spend a lot of time there in the past and watching your videos makes me miss it even more LOL, You're really good at showing the small charms of Japan which is what I like about it as well. I hope your health is doing okay. Love the videos and can't wait for more :)

I am fascinated by the kitchen gadgets designed specifically for Japanese cooking and storing of food items.

I love the way you instantly create a fun, comfortable and judgement free space when you're cooking, exploring, or sharing things you've seen or found. Your videos have given me so much confidence over the years, and most recently, through the chill atmosphere you create with King Kogi, I've been putting your videos on my phone in the kitchen and using them to motivate myself to clean up, or prepare simple meals - something that has always been a struggle for me. thank you!

I've seen so many people make this spinach side dish and every single one of them they put ice cubes in the chill out water and use some sort of fancy cheese cloth to squeeze out the water from the cooked spinach. Who has time for that??? Thank you Martina for keeping it super easy for us <3

As a huge sesame fan (my favorite ice cream is black sesame ice cream) I fully support adding it to the list of tastes. It has that nutty aspect but there's a roasty element too, almost like coffee.

I actually went to my local asian grocers and saw that they had a variety of miso pastes! Never noticed it before, so I grabbed a similar coloured one to yours and can't wait to make miso soup and try that spinach and miso sauce! Loved the video <3 Hope you're feeling better, great job on the editing!

Martina, I share your love and passion for the store that starts with “D” and ends with “aiso”! Those kitchen gadgets are amazingly useful (and so cute)! If I ever get to visit Japan, I’ll need all three of those (rice drain guard, sugar de-clumper, and onion drain container). This video was a dose of relatability when it comes to “English-ing” in the morning (I just can’t do it). And I jive with your humour so much! Arnold’s “just chill” and your description of the umeboshi really got me hahaha. Thanks for the awesome video; the food is drool-worthy!

I’m so happy to have you in my internet life, Martina. I have thought of you as a loving older sister and I’ve said this before but idk how you always post when I’m on the brink of a breakdown, brightening my mood like the sun coming out on a stormy day ⛅️ ☀️ 🌺🌷💐

Hey, the 'Lycka' on your egg roll pan translates to Happiness in Swedish, so you have an egg pan for eggy happiness! Rejoice!

I really love how you explain flavours, textures and the overall experience of eating the different dishes and ingredients. You do it in a super kind and non-condescending way. I know all these dishes and always took it for granted- but you don’t and by that you’re making it accessible to a lot of viewers who might not know it and/or are maybe worried about trying it.

Martina: I don’t want to embarrass myself by making bad Tamagoyaki Also Martina: proceeds to make the cutest fluffiest Tamagoyaki I’ve only ever seen in anime like Gourmet Girl Graffiti 🍳 Me, who doesn’t even like eating eggs that much: 👁 👄 👁✨✨ I might actually make this now

I just made some toast and eggs for breakfast. :3 Now I get to enjoy my orange juice and let my food start digesting while enjoying a long video, thank you Martina! <3 I've only seen the spinach with the root/stem intact at the Asian market that I go to in London (I'm in SW Ontario). Zehrs, Sobey's, and Metro only seem to have bags or plastic boxes of spinach.

Breakfast: Maximum Efffort Edition! Everything looks delicious and I loved the longer video. How about a video showing more cool kitchen items? What am I missing out on?! I NEED to know!
