My experience with this game is interesting. You see, the country that I live in, had severe power outages this winter, when days would be spent without electricity at all. So I've been playing Signalis on my Switch, sitting in a dark room lit by candles, my power bank slowly draining and immersed in this story. Now it's special, because it's not just a great game. It's a memory.

Signalis is one of my favorite games of last year. One thing on the aiming, I had a much smoother time on controller enabling that one option that lets you ready your weapon and aim just by moving the right thumbstick. (Shout out to Avalanche Reviews for pointing this out, I never would have thought to look for an option like that on my own.)

One of my favorite games of 2022 and honestly with some time and another playthough or two... I might consider it one of my favorite horror games of all time. This game haunted me long after I finished my first playthrough. It really sticks with you.
I really recommend playing it on survivor difficulty right out of the gate if you're a horror fan.

Wow. I really love stories where more than half of the story takes place before the film/show/game actually starts, and most of the point is to find out what happened.
My dad and I were talking just yesterday about a horror movie about a man who worked on a space station with an ai, and over the course of the film he found out that he was one of several clones, and each time the clones were dying they were told they would be sent back to earth, and then killed.

Grats on another banger, Son! Honestly didn't think you were going to cover this, so it came as an awesome weekend surprise. That's why you're the best Son around! You pretty much described Signalis how I do to other people as well- it's space-Silent Hill. Just... Silent Hill, in space. I also think that explanation gives it the most "fun factor". A lot of people go with the whole "it's all just a dream and basically none of the actual gameplay you go through really happens", which I've always found boring and to kind of be a slap in the face of the person consuming the content. Whereas the more literally you take it as "Silent Hill in space" the more literally you can take a lot of the events, which in my opinion gives it far more impact since the actions you, the player, take have actual meaning within the world the story takes place in.
For endings the secret ending is probably my favorite. The imagery is fantastic, and the sheer events of what happens just implies so many nifty things. Most of the endings I'm perfectly fine with in general though as there's a lot of heart put into them. Absolutely fantastic game from beginning to end.

I've had this installed for a while now, but I've had a lot going on and haven't gotten around to trying it out. whenever I get a little free time I usually default to playing a game I know I enjoy.
Gonna start it up after work today, and come back to your vid after I finish. I trust your judgement, son.
