Best ending of any Cassavetes film when he finally sees his daughter and his actual role comes into focus when she starts crying. Really hit me the first time I saw it since most of the movie is fairly dark.

The scene about 45 minutes in when Gazzara goes home is, for me, one of the most fucking insane and jarring things I’ve ever seen in a movie. It’s scary because it’s so painfully human

I don't know if I 'm getting old..but Ben Gazzara, John faulk and cassavetes made my day. When I first saw this movie, I was coming back from 14 months in that Stupid War...if I miss spelled something wrong, forgive me..🎼oh Jesus loves me, oh, Jesus loves me🎶.why, because the bible tells me soooo..🎵 brings back, beautiful and bitter days.

Cassavetes is like the American Ken Loach, but better . I've only recently discovered his films.

Yeah they where showing the mirror to people. To wake up from the little box, they hold there mind in. Great freedom in all of his movies. ❤❤❤❤

My favorite scene is at 1:00:20 when Gus is talking to his wife and says "I love you," and the camera quickly cuts to Harry. His wife at home, and his wife abroad

Thank you. This film is marvelous, as each film directed and written by John Cassavetes.

Great movie. I got the impression, that John Cassavetes led the camera roll (for lack of a better term) for extended period of times.

Another of Cassavetes film masterpieces. He should have made one on wives.

Love Cassavetes. Recently was able to see Gloria on free telly and it was lengthy like many of his films. And always a pleasure to see Gena Rowlands in a longer film. She is one of the best actresses in the history of celluloid.

John Cassavetes' films contain his authenticity and freedom, those eyes on life and characters. Embrace nothingness!
